Ehh. Not very impressed so far. The track could be great, to be sure, but right now I don't know.

sounds like Joe might be a little more 'involved' with this track from what i hear toward the end of the intro..

Sounds pretty good, although I've got to agree its very similar to "What I've Done" in style. I'm thinking (like some of you) that this is intentional, it kind of continues on from the themes/style of that song I guess. The thing is, joe movie goer probably wont think of that, and I'm sure we're going to hear a lot of "it sounds exactly the same as the first song".

This is a bad thing man. their basic style was already rare and i dunno why they're changing it into regular styles that you can hear it from several other bands. And i'm 100% sure that mike won't sing in this new song, maybe even the next new album, exactly like the m2m. I missed mike and joe when with his SCRATCHES :(

Talk of how LP have changed so much should be banned IMO. It's one song...one song none of us have even heard in full. If people are still struggling to realise their transistion of sound that died back in 2003 then I'd like to introduce you to a little phrase called ''get over it''. ;)

The hilarious thing is that everyone is taking my comment that I said out of context, when I myself said this is probably not an indicator of the new sound in another thread.

Still, the band definitely sounds different from MTM even if this sounds nothing like their new album.

The song sounds like What I've Done, but a trillion times better. There's so much going on, it's awesome. The Park are sounding really good at the moment. I'm excited for the new album now :p.

Oh, and LOL at the person who said Linkin Park's sound used to be rare.

LPs sound never was truly rare. They just did the raprock style in a way that was considered fresh at that time. Then everyone decided to copy the style which is what forced the band to change on MTM.

And you can sing What I've Done's lyrics to the tune of that New Divide clip. Try it.

Seriously, did I miss something? Where is this mystical underground credibility some people think Linkin Park used to have? They've always been about as mainstream as a band could possibly get. My aunt listens to Linkin Park, for fucks sake...

Song sounds good so far, btw. :p

    So yeah, I like it.

They have their niche amongst the bands they're associated with, and even when/if that changes I think they still will.

But that =/= being completely unique
not to mention that rapping and scratches for the sake of it =/= good.

If there is any scratching in this song it needs to be a solo worked out of a transformer scratch.

I'm wondering the same thing, do u guys think Chester is singing the chorus or the bridge in the clip? I personally hope it's the bridge instead of the chorus.

I think it should be the bridge... The lyrics to the chorus is different as some of them had kinda figured it out by looking at the screens of the trailer. And i think the chorus may have the singing melody as the bridge like what ive done. I'm hoping it to be totally different though.

Jesus christ, it's already been confirmed that Chester does ALL the vocals on this track. Quit hoping for Mike, it's not going to happen here.

It's called evolution. Most artists and bands do it at least once.

As for the clip on the Myspace, it has an almost industrial feel at the beginning. I'm liking what I'm hearing. The vocal clip isn't anything spectacular, but then, when the first What I've Done clips came out, I wasn't that impressed, because I was hearing that part of the song out of context.

From the clips I think the song will be average but it sounds like it has the potential to build to something massive toward a bridge section.
