Don Gilmore set to produce the album set to be released late this year/early '10. Now...let's see if he can make BFMV sound over commercialised and repetative. All joking aside, he's a good producer, but I just can't imagine how they're gonna sound after he works his magic on them. Time will tell I suppose...
i'm with you. when I read that it was Don Gilmore producing, I laughed out loud and instantly thought of the next album sounding like shit. I did read that BFMV wanted to do a "classic rock" sound for their next album, so i'm hoping they don't turn out a horrible album because The Poison and Scream Aim Fire are pretty solid albums IMO
I still am laughing. I'll give it a chance though. But I didn't like "Scream..." much at all, to be honest.
Poison was the best album and yeah no classic rock please, cause BFMV shud keep their own style and just I hope that Don doesn't fail with it. He brought also 2 LP albums which were cool
I don't get it . Like Dean said, surely someone like Adam D would have been a better choice? Considering he's pretty much the king of metalcore producers. As for the classic rock direction, can't say I'm too pleased. I'm all for bands maturing and changing, but this kind of approach hasn't exactly worked well for recent metal bands, in my opinion (see Atreyu's Lead Sails Paper Anchor and Trivium's The Crusade).
I just hope Matt Tuck keeps on screaming. I know he's had his problems with nearly destroying his vocal chords but I'd hate if BFMV went Crusade on us.
I didn't like some of the screaming on "Scream Aim Fire". On the title track and stuff like that, it was great, of course. But, sometimes, it was like they just did it for the sake of it; even the freaking ballads had screaming in them.
Actually that is kinda true, I dunno why the fuck they put screaming in Say Goodnight. Nevertheless I'd still rather they screamed than sang in every song. Matt Tucks soft vocals are a bit like Matt Heafy's in the sense that too much of hearing them can become irritating. One thing I will say though is that Matt Tuck can sing soft lightyears better than Matt Heafy can.
I actually don't think Matt Heafy's that bad a singer (at least on stuff like Shogun and Roadrunner United's The End). It's his "harsh" singing voice I can only stand in small amounts.
