So, is anyone here into longboarding?

A lot of people around here seem to be into it, since I live in a very mountain-y terrain, so it's wicked for that stuff. If you don't know what I'm talking about, Wikipedia seems to have a decent explanation.

I just recently decided I wanted to get into it and my friend's helping me out. I'm still learning. :p I was thinking of getting one so it'd be an awesome way from getting from point A to B instead of bus-ing everywhere, which is a drag..

I skateboard. That's probably the closest I get normally. From what I can tell it seems a little more like snowboarding though, but more practical depending on your location.

I don't really think it's like skateboarding. I think it's more like snowboarding and the like.

Yeah, the ideal terrain and the principle behind it seem to have more in common with snowboarding. I'll probably try it myself at some point if I get a chance, and if I come across somewhere that's suited to it.
