Hey, So, I had my own Reanimation CD for quite a while, and it was this somewhat light orange color. My friend was giving away some of his CD's and I got his Reanimation CD and I found that the color of his disc was a darker shade of orange then mine. It was almost red, actually. I was wondering if there was anything significant about the difference in color.
Are you sure his wasn't the special edition or whatever it's called? I know there were two different versions printed, the original and then the one with the Manson Mix B-Side of By Myself. That might have something to do with it.
The weirdest was when I found my mates copy of Reanimation and the CD was white. It also said it was released by a different record label than Reanimation actually came out on.
Well first of all, are you sure it's not the Reanimation DVD Audio disc? That had a different color scheme on the disc than the CD did. But anyway, minor color differences in CD/packaging designs aren't all that unusual, since they aren't typically all manufactured at one plant, so there can be varying inks/dyes used in the manufacturing process between the different plants. There's a batch of Hybrid Theory discs that came out of Asia a couple years ago that were bright pink instead of red, I've also seen ones where the color scheme was reversed (black disc with red writing), probably a printing error on that one.
There's pink Hybrid Theory Special Editions I also have an inverted Hybrid Theory Sp. Ed. disc: http://i128.photobucket.com/albums/p194/elitexero/LP Collection/htspec.jpg
I agree, it looks awesome. The thing that confused me about my mate's disc is that it said it came out on a different record label. :\ I'll try and get a picture of it. Edit: Now that I look at it, my HT special edition CD is brighter than my normal pressing. Strange I never noticed that. Edit 2: Here's the photo. It says it was released up Priarity Records.
I've been collecting LP stuff for around 2 years now and I've never seen an outline Reanimation disc like that. Another thing is, I've never heard of Priarity Records, and I know that Warner would never let another label release anything from any of their signed bands, thats why they have the Warner International label. I've got copies of the Reanimation DVD-A as well as the limited DualDisc pressing and neither look like that or were released under any other label other than Warner. The only thing I can find on 'Priarity Records' is a couple of obscure websites listing remix cds, so what I'm guessing is it was someone on ebay selling homemade copies or a bootlegging company redistributing cds. Any other questions just ask
