I Was Just Thinking.......... I wonder how it would be received if Linkin Park used "bad" language in the next album. I'm quite sure they won't ever resort to that kinda thing. But however, do you think they would lose a lil bit of their credibility ? Honestly, there are only a few bands out there with whom swearin works. Haha, this is silly.....But somehow I just think with the unique style of chester's screaming....It could just click........maybe not. Whad ya'll think ?
They could probably get away with it, but a lot of parents would ban the music from their kids (maybe) because of it. I don't want to see them go all out and end up swearing for no reason like Korn, but I'd like to see a few like "hell," "damn," "ass," or "####." There was swearing on the EP, but they were unsigned and no one knew about them. Plus they only said "####" and "ass," so it's not like it's that big of a deal.
I would definetly lose some respect for them. I like the fact that they dig deeper than resorting to four-letter words to express how they feel inside, with more poetic lines. I also like the fact that I can play Linkin park's music in my parent's car, or around my little brother and not have to worry about what's being said.
Why would they want to do that...they got tons of fans without it, if they do it, they'll lose some of their hardcore fans
I'd love the band to say "ass" or something else and shed some teenieboppers. That'd rule. Ass wouldn't get them a parental advisory sticker anyways, so it wouldn't be that bad. I wouldn't lose respect for them unless they got a "f*ck this, f*ck that, f*ck you" attitude like what Fred Durst used to have, best shown in "Break Stuff".
I wouldn't care. No bad words is nice for a change, then again, it takes more than using the word f**k every other line to offend me.
You don't need writing skills to swear in a song, but writing one without is sometimes really hard. I don't mind if they swear but I prefer they don't.
I think its a little funny that LP swears less in their 3 cd's than Britney Spears does in all of hers. :chemist:
Really for me all the music i listen has cursing(with the acception to LP). I wouldn't mind and they might lose some fans but they could atract younger fans who think the cursing is cool B)
i woudnt mind, but i read somewhere they save money on parental advisery stickers, so they dont swear, but i bet thats lies, and phoenix's dad has something to do with them not swearing to, just rumours
I wouldn't like them any less even if they did use swearing (which actually happens in the EP) but I'd probably wonder why. I don't mind swearing at all, I do it myself and a lot of the bands I like swear in their songs but the lack of profanity in their lyrics really sets LP apart from others and I think they should stick to that. In my book, they won't necessarily lose credibility but in others', they might. :wth:
I wouldn't mind hearing Chester scream the word 'f*ck' a few times. I don't think, however, that it will happen. They have made too much of a big deal out of not using swear words so I dought they'd go back on what they said and start swearing.
I'd want LP to have the PA sticker on it so I can buy it to defy my parents hehe Just kidding. But if they included swears, then that would be alright. as long as they dont just swear just to look cool. Cough*LB*Cough SRY
They'd definately lose respect if they used "F###" in every second word (check out the new "Right Now" by KoRn), but it could be fun if they had an extra song where they would say all the funny swearing. The "Parental Advisory sticker is great anyway, i wouldn't mind...
I'll agree with the majority here...I think it would be fine to throw a few swears in, as long as they didn't start saying "f### that, you s###head." I personally would really like it if they said hell. I don't know why, but I love it when bands say hell.
Swearing wouldn't be bad, but it wouldn't be that good. I wouldn't really care if they did, but it isn't really LP if you know what I mean.
well, i like it how LP dont swear much or at all in their songs. it's different and it does set them apart from other groups that really do. but i'd prefer them not to.. i cant really seem them actually curse in the next album.. but if they do then they do.... yeah..
Personally, I'd love to see a PA sticker on an LP album...but here in my town, all we have is a Super Wal-Mart...and if anyone is in a town like me, with that only...you know they don't sell PA albums. And my parents aren't gonna take me 30 miles to the nearest Sam Goody's just so I can get a CD with a few swears in it. I think LP should swear a bit, but also think about the kids who love LP but can't get there album because there parent(s) is/are to over-protective and starts a protest on the band for saying ass or hell and saying that is the reason why all of a sudden there children are cussing.. Ahem... ...Stupid parents... :argh:
