Various "Open" and "Save" windows of mine in various programs, for some reason display all files in reverse alphabetical order, and, no matter how many times I fix it so that the files are listed in proper alphabetical order, it changes itself back the moment I leave the folder.

This happens in file-exploring/selecting windows for various programs of mine that are able to do such exploring. Upload windows from Firefox have the same problem.

Anyone know what causes the problem and how to fix it? Restarting hasn't helped.

What I would try is when you are in the selection window,

    1. Right-click in an open area (inside the selection window)

    2. Hover your cursor over `Arrange Icons By'

    3. Click on `Name'

This will should make it in regular alphabetical order, but if it stays, just do the same thing once more.

Post back if it doesn't work :)

That only lasts 'til I leave the folder.

Huh... Could you list some of the programs that do this?

Just about all the ones that have "Open", "Save", etc. windows. Upload dialogs included.
