One of the funniest movies of 2008.

A few minor nitpicking flaws aside, bad ass movie.

 

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button 9/10

Amazing!

 

I watched Don't Mess With The Zohan again, as well as Bedtime Stories.

Both were pretty reasonable. The former being nowhere near as bad as a lot of people seem to have made out, although the first half is much much better than the second.

 

Dirty Pretty Things - 6/10

Good film, great storyline, no big names and realistic.

I absolutely despise Tom Cruise, but I really liked this movie, The last hour or so was incredibly tense.

 

Stepbrothers

Better than the last few Will Ferrell comedies which is all I was really hoping for.

 

I'm refusing to watch this movie on the grounds that Tom Cruise is a terrible actor and because very few Germans were cast to play the parts of Germans. It makes absolutely no sense to me to cast an American (who doesn't even use a fake German accent) as a German. *shrug*




I watched the first three Harry Potters last night. 9/10, 7/10 and 8/10.

 

you got a point there. but i have to say that this movie is very good. for a history lesson at a topic so dark of my country's past, you get the story behind the happenings of july 20th 1944. tom cruise does great as stauffenberg even though it was a bit weird to see the german actors being synchronized with their own voices .
i guess for us germans it's a bit easier to watch this movie because of the synchronization. we don't use subtitles over here.
to my mind, there were actually more german actors than i thought would be, suprisingly.

 

I'm not taking anything away from the story at all. But I think it would've made the movie better had German actors been cast in all the lead roles.

What do you mean by "synchronization"?

 

Dubbing or whatever you call it. I hate Germans for doing that because I can never watch any movie on any German TV

 

oh, im sorry, the term over here is synchronization. but dubbing means the same actually.
im with you on that, will. it would've provided a lot of atmosphere with germans in all lead roles.

 

Burn After Reading. The acting was superb but I was left totally confused by the way it ended. It didn't make much sense to me.

Very predictable, but it was amazing nonetheless.

 

Lakeview Terrace (8/10)

I gave this a high rating because my family and I used to live next door to a cop and Samuel L. Jackson's character in this movie is almost a dead on depiction of the cop we had to deal with for about 6 years. It was quite scary at times. We ended up moving before things got real serious. So I relate to this movie a lot. Stuff like this is more common than you think.

 

Especially the poo scene, right?

 

I meant as far as Zack and Miri falling in love and getting married.





Burn After Reading

I can't even rate this movie. I don't know if I can. It had more annoying characters in it than any movie I've ever seen. The only reason I kept watching it was because John Malkovich and Brad Pitt were amazing. The ending made absolutely no sense. How the fuck was this movie even made?

 

I see. I liked Burn After Reading... though.
