So tomorrow night is the premier of the new season of Lost.... Feelings, expectations, theories? I for one am freaking psyched for this! I'm going over to my girlfriends house to watch it and I am just stoked. I will admit the show has gone a little down hill since the beginning, but at this point I am so absorbed into the characters that I hardly notice it.
I wish Lost would just get lost. It was good the first season but stretched the storyline too much for my liking.
well i mean, theoretically the moving of the island makes sense. It was an island for research that dealt alot with the space time. People can't find the island because its been moved within both the location and time periods. If you remember the episodes where they were getting lost in time and such. To me, I think Jacks dad is alive because they went back in time and he was dead in the plane but back in time he wasn't. I mean thats just a theory. Also there was that whole scene with finding the polar bear bones in the desert and then when Ben moved the island he ended up in the desert as well. Maybe the polar bears were used to rotate that machine ben did by hand... I will admit though that the plot has become something entirely else then it originally loved. when i watch episodes from season 1 i miss it, but i love all the characters and the WTF part of the show leaves me needing more. Had this been the way the show was from the start i prbly wouldnt have gotten into it but its just grown on me.
You should really keep these threads spoiler free for the people who don't want those kind of things spoiled.
You can stream all the old ones on ABC.com but you prbly wont be able to stream the new ones until tomorrow at earliest from other sites and id say within a week on ABC. Sorry about the spoilers, I guess I kind of assumed that if someone followed lost then there wouldnt be much to spoil considering there hasnt been a new episode in like half a year and most lost fans really follow the episodes deeply anyways. Sorry
I don't watch the show, but just from now on, when you post spoilers, put [/ invisible] tags around it. Get rid of the space I've put after the "/", and then if people want to read your spoilers they just have to highlight your text.
I'm so sick and tired of hearing people complaining about how the show has been "stretched out" when none of them bother to take the time to find out why that's the case. The writers themselves said they had a hard time deciding how best to end the show and they were writing a lot of essentially "filler" episodes before they nailed down a definitive end-date for the show. Anyway, I still haven't seen anything past season two, so I'm going to buy seasons three and four on DVD and do some catching up. That means I'll miss five, but I'm not worried about it, because I'll just get five on DVD, and then six after that's out.
if you really enjoy the show you should defiantly buy them on dvd so you can enjoy them in your living room and all, but if you happen to have a nice computer set up or just want to leisurely watch the show here and there ABC.com hosts all the episodes in HD. As far as the premier goes... just wow! While I predicted they had traveled in time, it still really impressed me... the opening scene in the past with Faraday showing up was crazy... Then the fact that Faraday's mom not only is communicating with Ben... but it's the old lady from Desmond's travels... just wow. Everything seemed perfectly pieced together and they managed to not piss me off... i was satisfied with the answers I got and the ones I've yet to get aren't bothering me anymore haha. Theories: When Michael couldnt kill himself because the island wouldnt let him... could that have anything to do with the whole Time traveling island he was on? You know the whole, not being able to add string, only move back and forward.... Did Sayid's wife really get killed by Whitmore's people... or was it Ben in order to motivate him to become an assasin... that would explain why Sayid doesnt trust him.... Is Faraday in the past to try to fix the time jumping thing? Does the episode with Locke choosing the items as a child with Richard have anything to do with the time traveling... this ones a stretch but did Richard believe lock had traveled in time and become a child and thats why he would know which items are his? Ana Lucia and Charlie have come to Hurley... are these just visions? Is Jacks father dead? or traveled in time to o become living... is Jacob actually Christians father? Whats gonna happen with Claire? Claire was supposed to raise her child according to the psychic... Wow... ill stop now.
Now that they showed Expose again, I really think that Locke is not dead, just paralyzed like Nikki and Paolo were. And also, with all the travelling back and forth through time.. I have no idea how they're going to handle who remembers whom from the past and who doesn't and why
Actually that is a good idea with him just being paralyzed, however I also think it could be that through time travel he might come back to life. I just am a strong believe that Christian Shepard came back to life through time travel and Locke's parilyzation did the same thing. I think traveling back to the island might reverse his death. But I guess we will probably find out soon. The one thats really getting me though is Richard and the compass. Locke had that compass when he got on the island the first time and I can't recall him ever losing it or anything, so how did Richard have it... unless Richard actually gave it to Locke and he didnt even know it... IE in the past, on or off the island. Gah time travel is so confusing... I think its better then in Heroes though. Just my opinion
Hmm I don't recall Locke having that compass ever before.. but I did read that it might be the same compass Richard showed him when he came to Locke while he was a child.. The producers said, though, that in this season we will think that we have figured out what's happening in the show, but that season 6 will show us that we had been completely wrong. So yeah, I'm taking everything that I see with a grain of salt
Haha the entire show is like that... remember when the island was so clearly purgatory or something and the smoke monster had to be god? haha I've been bored lately and watching season 1 and locke just busts out a compass out of no where. He orginally gives it to sayid and says he doesnt need it anymore but then later has it/a new compass back, either way, he had that same compass im pretty sure since the begining of the show and yes, im certain Richards visit to locke as a child has something to do with the time travel.
It's all getting very complicated, isn't it? I'm starting to think the only way they'll be able to resolve everything is to make it all hallucinations of Hurley's psyhosis, or something like that. All people in a mental institution, maybe. Although, that would be shit. I really love this show and if they hadn't set a fixed amount of seasons I'd have been scared that it would get cancelled, because it's just really hard to follow at this point. I mean a lot of people stopped watching after season 2 because they thought it was too complicated and intense to watch. I'm really going to have to watch everything again one day to make it all out, because I'm sure there are links between the earlier seasons and what is happening now. Like every season there are always more questions than answers to begin with and I'd say about half of them will be resolved before this season ends. I'm wondering if they're going to explain the obvious and just leave the rest for us to figure out, or if they're just going to have an open ending...
I think the writers debunked the theory about everything being in someone's head. I expect and ending similar to that of Via Domus, a bright light and everything starts anew. edit: but that again, that might be little too obvious a way to end the show
I don't think that any of it will be a figment of someones imagination or anything like that. I think it will all work it's way out in the end and we will be satisfied with out answers. I have a lot of confidence in the writers. I don't understand why people get so frustrated with the confusing nature of the show... whenever people tell me they hate the show I ask why, and they tell me because such and such happened in season 1 or 2 and it made sense, but the fact is that event has already been explained now. People just were not willing to wait the long run to find out the answers to things and because of that they though it was stupid.... people should have patience and enjoy the fact that someone created a show thats not cliche and obvious. It's all a puzzle to me and even in the shows off time's I can't stop trying to solve it. It's what I love about the show, they always leave puzzles to work out and solve and no matter how rediculas something seemed one week, 3 weeks later it all made complete sense. Because they have answered so many of the questions so far, I have faith that by the end, everything will be answered and it will all make sense. I hope.
