In the video Papercut at the very end, when Chester sings in the song "its like a face inside is right, beneath my skin!" it shows Mike singing that but w/ Chester's voice, and shows Chester singing " the sun goes down!" Same thng in Numb, it shows Mike singing at the very end, but it's Chester's voice! Anyone else notice this?
It's also like that in Crawling. Mike does Chester's parts live, so just to show a similarity, they have Mike do Chester's parts (which interline the usual stretch of the line before it). A lot of times you'll see in bands, one singer will sing all the parts they mix into the song, but live, another person does the vocals that the original cannot do (seeing you can only use one voice saying one thing at one time).
Its usually because there they love to sing to the music....so they get so caught up and allow the music to take over them.
It's like that because it's both Mike and Chester singing that part on the CD, but they can't obviously show Chester singing two parts at once, so they just have Mike do that part while Chester does the other part. Mike sings quite a bit on Hybrid Theory and Meteora, it's just never really full-on like Chester. It's mostly backing vocals, and if you listen closely, you can hear him clearly.
Chester can't hold a note and sing a different line at the same time.. It's physically impossible. So Mike sings that part.
