Chester recently had an interview with Entertainment Weekly where he spoke out about his recent attendance at the MTV Video Music Awards, as well as taking the time to talk about his future solo effort. Chester describes the album with familiar tags such as "strong — very moody, very dark and melodic." He also contemplates the title of the release, hinting the album may simply be self-titled. "We were called Snow White Tan for a while, and then I changed the name to Dead By Sunrise, but I really just like Chester Bennington." You can check out the full article over at EW.com. Nah, I think it's a little to easy to sell something just putting his own name on it. He talked with Warner now, could that have caused the sudden change of name? I know they'll make more money on "Chester Bennington". To me, it sounds like he is getting us ready this name change. Not 100% sure but it could be.
Hmmm well he could change it to his own name and dedicate the album to naming it Dead by sunrise... i mean its happened before...lol
they should have put it on machine shop... since level 7's having all these issues. screw warner, it needs to stay dead by sunrise.
There's absolutely no reason to suspect Warner had anything to do with the name change (which isn't even confirmed to begin with). And Chester's label is called Level 7. "Snow White Tan" is a line from Ziggy Stardust by David Bowie. There is also already a band called Death Before Sunrise. There's a chance that using either name officially could cause some legal trouble. Death Before Sunrise isn't a big band by any stretch of the imagination, but neither was Hybrid, and they still managed to force Hybrid Theory to change their name. If Death Before Sunrise's name is copyrighted and they feel "Dead By Sunrise" is too similar, they have every right to object to it.
So then it is most likely to be "Chester Bennington : Dead by Sunrise" That sounds cool... Chester has a better shot of using his name than doing what Mike did about not feeling comfortable using his name.
I hope he will find a band name because I don't like bands that take the name of just one member, although it's Chester. And I liked Mike not using his name.
With Mike calling his project Fort Minor, rather than just using his own name as a selling point - I really like that concept. But, if Chester wants his name on the cover, so be it, he knows best for his own release. Moreover, it won't change the music so, whatever.
Darn I really liked "Dead By Sunrise" however Dr. Octagonapus enlightened me with both his points. After hearing that, honestly if I were Chester I would not go along with naming it that, but at the same time I don't really want it to be called just "Chester Bennington" basically for The Same Reasons as both Gitsnik, and the_chemist had.
the 8 was a typo, and i've known the whole story for quite some time now. and there's several bands called dead by sunrise already as well. i just don't want it to be cb cause that discredits the rest of the band AKA julien-k
Ya but its the internet, isn't it great to just assume things? Plus if I make a blog stating that is the case doesn't it make it official?
Exactly what I was thinking guys. He should go by his own name, and just simiply call the album "Dead By Sunrise" instead of calling it his bands nanme. Basiclly he should do what Serj Tankian did, and make up a name for the rest of the guys that perform with him live. Hopefully, nothing like the F.C.C
I love the name Dead By Sunrise....so if chester dont use it as the name for his solo projekt then im gona use it as a name for my band lol
