If you've ever seen me around forums you may or may not know that aside from writing lyrics I actually do a lot of computer artwork in my spare time; even more so than I write lyrics. However; what you probably don't know is exactly what my artwork looks like so I figured since I've already clogged up the writers forum with all the work I've done, why not invade the Artists' Gallery as well? In this thread I will post all future images I create in Adobe for your critique and viewing pleasure. Below is the latest image I've made to accompany the latest song I've posted in Writer's Cove called "My Silent Hope" To view the other images I've made in the past click here and then on the "Portfolio" section. Thanks and I hope you enjoy my artwork!
MOOOOOO, thank j000. *coughs* Thank you Terry, "Celestial" (I assume you mean the white and bright blue image) is one of my favorite pieces I've ever made, I based it offa Silent Hope (not My Silent Hope) but came out with something that whooped its ass entirely. Thanks for your comments .
Which brings me to ask, what programs did you use? And how did you get that cool 'scrawl' look thing?
Rawk on teh Photoshop! edit: I love your work Derek--although you already know that . I envy Derek's grunge skills :chemist:.
Yes I use Photoshop version 7. Imagine this Keaton, I only started grunge work a few months ago. I'm dead serious, this artwork is the product of only about 7-8 months of experience in this style. Overall I've had about 4-5 years experience in Adobe Photoshop. I've been with it since version 4.0 BTW, explain "scrawling".
pwhoah.. dude.. seriously excellent work!! and your portfolio ones are great too..! i like the NUMB one and the SILENT HOPE ones.. they're neat..! man.. i wish i could use my photoshop.. T_T.. heh.. how lame.. i dnt really know how to use it.. hehe. anywho.. keep up the great work Derek!
Scrawling in my skin, these wounds... Ok it's enough They are all excellent, but my favorite is the Numb one. I like the "cold" feeling of the image.
Derek, your artwork was amazing! I liked all of them, especially "A Silenced Whisper." I hope you make more ^^
Fork me! Some of the artwork in there is absolutely amazing, mate. Like someone else said - Celestial is just awesome. Great filters...superb graphics and...bloody hell it's better than what I can do <_> A silenced hope (or something :\) Is really good as well. You better let me know when you anything new, boy or else I'm gonna kick yo' ass

Everyone has been making me feel wonderful lately and it just brings a smile to my face. You guys are great . Believe it or not Avenger, the cold look only came when I changed the color of the image to dark blue. It was originally a dark grey but I thought that looked sort of dull and didn't capture the viewer's attention enough. I'm glad everyone liked the direction I took with that image, it was for the "Numb Image Contest" here on LPA but unfortunately I only claimed Runner Up. Probably because I kicked poor Rob out of the image by accident, I'm a bad..bad..man .
As a gift to everyone who loves my artwork I present to you, one of my deepest and most thought provoking pieces in my portfolio. For the first time ever with a piece, the image was so violent in nature (due to blood) that I had to make two different versions because I felt the original version may offend some viewers. It should come as no surprise that an image this controversial and deep revolves around 9/11. Fresh out of Adobe Photoshop and onto the pages of these forums I present to you my newest image: "September 11th". Alternate Versions I must stress that the following versions contain small bits of blood and may offend those who are easily offended. September 11th Orange Version (Before I added the blue tone) September 11th With Blue But Uncensored
. Thank you Keaton and I'm sorry for beating the crap out of you in a thread earlier. I hope your arm is healing well..
Hehhe, thank you. I will continue to post any future pieces in here as time goes on . Thanks for the continued support and compliments.
