So, a few nights ago I was bored out of my mind watching FSN. The show was about the "50 Most Inspirational Sports Moments". They get to the moment where Muhammad Ali lights the Olympic torch during the '96 summer games. Something isn't right... I START GETTING CHOKED UP! Was it some fleeting feeling of 'Murican patriotism that I had not yet felt until that point?! Possibly. Am I just a colossal pussy?! Probably closer to the truth.

In short - what starts the waterworks for you? A certain song, or episode of your favorite tv show? Perhaps it's a movie with sentimental meaning (come on; you cried when Bambi's mother got shot, don't lie)? Go into detail if you'd like.

It'll make me you feel better... I promise. ;)

    WHERE'S TIMOTHY?!

The water spills over the damn when I stay up late, or have depressing thoughts.

    Or losing someone?

    Nice thread Timmeh.

Uhm...the end of the last episode of Friends. It does it everytime! =/

I also cried when I read The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe and Aslan was tied to the table and killed.

edit: Are we also talking about real things...? If so then there are lots of things that make me cry. I hate to see my loved ones in pain, physical or emotional. I'll never forget Leonie 2 hours after her accident, she was still bloody, scratched and broken all over and when I saw her I couldn't say anything, I just cried and cried. Or with the news, one of the main reasons I don't watch the news anymore, it affects me to much.

I'll be the first one to say that my team losing the champions league final in 2006 had me crying quite a bit lol.

When I was young I cried over Titanic and even today the scene from The Fox And The Hound where the old women is driving the fox out into the woods to release the fox while reminiscing their times together still gets me pretty choked up.

I dunno...sometimes when something really really upsets me I shed a few tears. I don't think it's anything to be ashamed of and it certainly doesn't dent ones manhood...I actually think us lads should be a little more open about the concept of emotions because there are guys out there who are just robots when it comes to emotion. That's my two cents.

I never saw Bambi or The Lion King.

Hmm, the ending of 'The Last Samurai'.
    Da Spoilers:
When near the end, Tom Cruise and Katsumoto are on the battlefield, and the Chinese gunners have the machine gun and are shooting them. There's a close up of a general who was once a samurai, and his facial expression when Katsumoto is on the floor (this is the point where the general orders the guns to stop firing) chokes me up.

I don't cry but I often get that feeling of choking or having a noodle in my throat in some "sentimental" moments

When some of my favorite actors die, it messes me up quiet a bit and I cry. Heath Ledger is a perfect example of this. Also certain movies make me shed some tears. The Lion King, Titanic, Crash, Brokeback Mountain, and October Sky are some examples.

I also cry when I feel really low and depressed. Crying helps because it's a way of letting everything out. Sometimes it's for the better.

And I cry when tragedies happen, especially school shootings/massacres. This affects me a lot.

There are definitely certain films that make me cry, but Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind gets me every fucking time...

As for songs, I'd say some Ronnie Day songs make me choke up, but no song makes me cry, just get really choked up.

@Bryan: A girl I was chatting to on webcam was crying to that film before...Well, almost but composed herself

I got choked up during certain parts of the Harry Potter series.

The Notebook gets me every time, too. That movie is incredible. October Sky is another one.

I think I might have cried at the end of MGS4. I was pretty sad at least.

I think I almost did the last time I watched Big as well. I'll probably end up feeling embarrassed for saying that.

Certain movies have made me cry.. Titanic, The Notebook.. and I'm probably one of the few people who have cried during Armageddon. I dunno if anyone finds that story sad, but I really did.

He died to save everyone! That's fucking sad!

    Anyway.

I cry pretty easily. I hate it actually, because I don't like not feeling in control of my emotions. That's just me though I guess.
