    I wouldn't really describe them with those sort of bands, they're more experimental than hardcore, or even rock for that matter.

    For the thread Mindless Self Indulgence have a lot of punk and electronica influence but they're more industrial than hardcore..

    Machinae Supremacy use synth but there more alt/power metal than hardcore/emo.

    Can't remember anything else that hasn't been said

    I'd described them that way without ever actually hearing them. I couldn't think of any other bands he listens to that I could compare Battles to so that's why I made the comparisons I did.

    A Skylit Drive and A Kiss for Jersey (usually spelled akissforjersey) are two really good ones.

    Also there's A Kiss Could Be Deadly. They've got female vocals.

    Does It Offend You, Yeah?

    They're not too similar to the bands you described, but they do combine techno/electronica with a style that's like the killers meets family force 5.
