LP created Reanimation which is considered kind of a side album, then they had Collision Course (which I know didn't start from them), so I'm wondering what other album project(s) could they create? You can think of something completely random, or a type of album another artist has created, or whatever. I'm interested in hearing your thoughts. Example: Acoustic Album.
There's a few different things I'd like to see them do. -MTV Unplugged. For a long time, I didn't think LP was really a good candidate for Unplugged, but with the number of softer songs on Minutes to Midnight, plus the fact that Korn's Unplugged really went over well, I think it'd be a great idea. -A covers album/EP. A lot of bands have been doing cover albums lately, I think LP's would be interesting due to how varied their influences are. -A b-sides/rarities collection, preferrably one that includes at least a couple songs that were *gasp* previously unreleased anywhere! I'm pretty sure we'll see one of these at some point, but I have a feeling Warner would rather save it for farther down the road. -A live DVD from a headlining tour. I've felt for a long time that LP dropped the ball with Live in Texas, it was their first NON-headlining tour in a long time, so why did they pick that tour to record? The crowds were mediocre at best, and their setlist was pretty bland. Plus, the editing on it is terrible. Hell, if they keep doing 3 setlists, I'd like to see them do a 3-DVD set with one show per setlist. -Another remix album, but with a twist: All the remixes would be done by the band with no outside input, as opposed to how Reanimation was done.
Linkin Park is one of the biggest acts Warner's had since Prince, and his whole B-Sides thing cames with the greatest hits. So, I'd say it's a safe bet to think that LP's B-Sides album would probably come along with their greatest hits. Just my opinion though. As for stuff LP could do... maybe an all rock instrumental album to fill in the gap between albums. It shouldn't take too much work. Then again, that's just my opinion.
I'd love to see a Remix album featuring remixes from MTM and Meteora. A covers album would be awesome too.
I know this is not LP, but I would rather get Chester's solo album before all of these. After that I would pick b-sides, or a concert dvd. The show at MSG would have been perfect.
I also agree with an acoustic/unplugged deal. That would really be awesome. Another thing they can do is just go jam and throw out an EP or something.
itd be cool if they did a sort of redone b-sides album with a couple new songs like the Killers recently released
i really want a live DVD ... hell, at most, live footage from a day of projekt revolution 2007. every band.
I think it's too late now but it would have been cool to get a Projekt Revolution DVD that showcased the entire lineup, kind of like a Live 8 DVD. As far as LP is concerned, I think MTV Unplugged would be an amazing idea. I would also like to see LP do an instrumental release much like Nine Inch Nails' Ghosts. I think LP does some amazing instrumental work.
