    < If you managed to yoink what's-his-face's pen and got access to his computer, there's a part where it talks about the person who was in there before Desmond, in which he was so synchronized with his ancestor that he actually became him and started writing all that stuff you see. The eagle vision that you get at the end of the game is, I think, a side-effect of being synchronized with Altair.

    Also, what you see is also dependant on how many side objectives you completed (finding the flags, rescuing citizens, etc.) in the game.    >

    As much as they don't understand me for it and may be disappointed right now, I felt like it had to be done.

    Maybe in time they'll understand and not think of me as being so stupid for patching it up so quickly.

    It's not that I'm trying to be naive and stupid, it's not that I'm being weak or fully accepting the blame for everything that has happened.......no I just felt it'd be better to do that then live with the burden of a dozen or so "what ifs".

    I can only pray that they will one day eventually come to realize that.
