This is today's Yahoo Launch news. I don't know if its old to LPA. But I just wanted to make sure everyone to knowa about it. NEWS - Linkin Park And Metallica Headline Reading And Leeds Festival 08/22/2003 The Reading and Leeds Festivals take place this weekend in the U.K. and between the two festivals they've assembled a huge roster of talent. Bands who play one festival usually play the other. This year's notable names include Linkin Park, Metallica, Staind, A.F.I., Good Charlotte, System Of A Down, Blur, Beck, the Used, and Sum 41 among others. For Linkin Park the band's festival run started on Wednesday in Dublin, Ireland. The band is playing European festivals through the end of August, though singer Chester Bennington told LAUNCH that he wants to tour in other parts of the world, as well. Apparently, some members of their management are concerned about the band traveling to international locations considering the unstable political climate. Bennington said that he's not worried, and in fact, he'd like to play all over the globe. "You know places that people are concerned about us going are places like Indonesia and things like that," Bennington said. "We're like Diamond in Indonesia. It's ridiculous. I think that for music, it's a little bit different. It's more global and a more universal type of communication, and it's more accepted than politics are." Linkin Park drummer Rob Bourdon added that the band has plans on going to Japan and Australia later this year. Also more U.K. dates, starting November 20 in Glasgow, have just been announced.
