Not much going on in the world of LP so I thought I'd share my opinions on some of LP's demo tracks.

Crawling Demo, minus the scream at the begining, I think is better than the final. The rapping part from Mike with the cool scratch in the background is sweet.

POA's final is better than the demo hands down

Part of Me is a toss up as is Carousel. They are both similar and both versions have many good elements.

In The End is better than the Untitled I think. It may be simpler but it flows better.

Rhinestone has better lyrics than Forgotten but the final version captures the endergy better.

By Myself flows better than it's demo I think as well.

I haven't heard any others but those are my opinions. What do you guys think?

    Wrong forum.

There's more than one POA demo.

Well one demo was basically the same. Just different lyrics in the rap part. I think it's better than both. What forum should this be in?

Carousel demo is better than the version on HT EP.
Part Of Me demo is soooo much better than the version on HT EP.

Part of Me Demo is sick.. it's much better except i think it'd be better without the 'Cut Myself Free' screaming, it sounds better when Mike yells it, he puts so much into that in the final version.
I like the originals of all the other songs better though, but the Carousel demo is probably better than the original too.

Esaul (or Place for My head Demo?) sounds fantastic! I don’t think it’d fit on Hybrid Theory because Mikes lyrics are a lot different than A Place for My Head’s.
I think the By Myself demo’s suck. The only thing I like about one of them is mike whispering his part at the beginning of the bridge.

the Points of Authority demo’s…nah. Final sounds awesome compared to them. It had so much more noise and it was so much more energetic I think.

Blah. I Don’t like the In The End Demo at all… Imo Chester’s vocals are poo and Mike’s lyrics are just kind all over the place, and I don’t understand them at all.. he mentions the sun like 3 times doesn’t he? I mean I think they would be good lyrics, but not for this song.

    ...^_^ .. thats all i think.

You are aware that the Part of Me and Carousel demos were recorded AFTER the versions on the Hybrid Theory EP, right?

    Seriously? When?

I haven't heard carousel demo, but the part of me demo is way better than the hybrid theory EP one, i like it better when Chester screams the cut myself free bit.

Yep, sorry. Thanks for reminding me about that.
Ok so i like the Demo's of those two that they made for Hybrid Theory (Album) better than the ones on the EP... That makes more sense now.

They redid Carousel and Part of Me for an EP the band would send out to major labels, along with The Untitled, Under Attack, Esaul, and a few others. I couldn't tell you the rest for sure, Astat would probably be a better source for that kind of info.

    Crawling. ;)

Actually Under Attack is just a fan created mix of Crawling. It was never on the demo CD. The Crawling demo was on the demo CD.

I think the demos are kind of a neat way to see the evolution of certain LP
songs. Other than that, they're kind of novelties that wear off after repeated
    listens, imo.

I agree. That's what makes them so fun to listen to.

I've heard all demos and I think all the final versions are better apart from the nearly identical with you demo (the slight echo just seemed to made it sound so much more better).

I think we need to stop calling half of these songs demos, because in reality they're more recent than the originals, making them what... remakes or something?
