I don't necessarily mean JUST violin, but I believe some of the BEST music is when you have rock music mixed with an orchestra. Ala Metallica S&M; Breaking The Habit by Linkin Park and the latest kicks I've had are the end of "All Hands On Deck Part 1 : Raise The Sail" by Funeral For A Friend; "I Don't Care" by Apocalyptica f. Adam Gontier, and "Wasted Years" by Cold. I'm looking for those kind of songs, does anybody else have any more songs like that? No Yellowcard , and preferebly "Nu-Metal"/Rock with the violin. I just think it's the must beautiful combination you can possibly have in a rock song thanks in advance if anybody knows what the hell I'm talking about
Rasputina. Chamber rock. Violin, viola, cello, drums, occassional guitar. I recommend "Tourniquet" (yes, its the Manson cover), and "Transylvanian Concubine" <3
Might be too similar to Yellowcard, but I'd recommend checking out I Am Ghost... Kinda Goth/Punk/Metal with violins.
God yes, love that song! And yes, Apocolyptica are amazing! They got my cello playing friend into metal
First of all, they have 2 RELEASED cds. And if you see them now, I don't recall them getting a new violin player. Don't fuck with me.
Sorry, I always thought "We Are Always Searching" was just a single release. I'll have to check that out sometime now. But my point still stands that, just because they no longer have a violinist, that doesn't mean their previous material didn't. So if someone wants to listen to rock with a violin, then they can listen to the material from I Am Ghost. Both the CDs they have still feature violins I am rather sure, as We Are Always Searching came out before Lover's Requiem. It is like if someone said they loved rap-rock or Nu-Metal, and I would recommend Linkin Park, even if their current CD is not longer Nu-Metal or Rap-Rock. I'd simply recommend Hybrid Theory and Meteora. In this case, I highly recommend Lover's Requiem by I Am Ghost.
I never said they WEREN'T. I said they aren't NOW, since Kerith left. As in the use of "Used to" and "aren't anymore" unless they replaced Kerith, but since she's married to Brian, I don't know how Brian might feel about that. We Are Always Searching has tracks that aren't on Lover's Requiem and the original and infinitely better version of Pretty People Never Lie...
Well, you just said they "didn't count anymore". I thought you were saying they shouldn't be recommended, sorry for the misunderstanding.
We got the situation under control Will. Thanks for your input. No problemo. Sorry about the "don't fuck with me" thing. It's just I've listened to IAG before they got signed to Epitaph, so I know a bit about them, thats all. No harm done :]
It doesn't even have anything to do with whether the situation was under control or not. And as a matter of fact, I don't even care. Your statement, "Don't fuck with me," was completely unjustified in this thread. There was no reason for it. As far as I'm concerned, it was a misunderstanding that didn't need for you to threaten him to not "fuck with" you at all. I'm tired of seeing you make posts expecting people to tiptoe around you just because you're having a bad day. "Today's not been a good day. Don't get on my bad side." I'll get on your bad side if I want. I'm sure I'm not the only one, either.
If you noticed, I edited with an apology. Not to mention, the way that esaul wrote his response, it appeared like he was being a wiseass. Thus my hostility. It's over and done with.
