I'm curious to know if anyone here has had any near death experiences? 1.) This one wasn't as major as #1, but, I was sick one day and I had to get a blood test and the guy who was giving it was a FIRST TIMER! I was really scared when he told me that. First time he poked me with the needle he said he did it wrong. He did it again the second time and did it right. After he was finished, I started feeling light-headed and I fainted. All I remember was, I was sitting down and my head fell backwards and hit the wall. Next thing I knew, I was on the ground and all of these doctors and nurses were hovering over me. I didn't even know what happened. I stayed in the hospital for a few hours and they let me go. So anyone got any they want to share?
I remember being in kindergarden (i dont know how old i was), and there was a big thing (whole) with balls in it (dont really know what it was) and i got in and a child jumped on me, so i cant really remember this.. but i fainted, but i do remember being at the docter and he told my mother that i hurd my nek.. very badly.. and than i remembered.. that my nek was hanging down and i couldnt get it up... so i walked around looking like quasimodo for 6 weeks.... but really, when i was with the docter, i thought i was going to die... but, i didnt...
well i havent had any that i can remember but my mother said that twice when i was a baby i almost died, something with my condition.
Elecricuting myself twice and setting my chin on fire aren't life threatening. But they hurt like a biatch and would explain my lose of brain cells.
I fell backwards from a fence and busted my head wide open, I ended up getting stitches for it though, hurted like hell, I remember it was the first day of school in the 1st Grade
I have lots but I'll only name one... 1. I was like 2 or 3 years old (my mom told me this) and the microwave on the counter was like hanging off, and it like fell and would of hit me in the head but my mom came in the kitchen just in time to catch the microwave from killing me... :wth:
I don't remember this, but my mom said when I was very young (age?), I was climbing on top of the couch, and then I fell. I had to go to the emergency room, and my mom said that I had broken my arm. Not very life-threatening, but I guess anything can kill you when you're so young. lol.
1. When I was 1 and a half, I was brushing my teeth and I was running around and I fell and the toothbrush went up into my gum and stretched my top lip severely. It healed. 2. When I was 3, I got up on a chair to answer the phone and I fell back and hit my head off the sharp corner of a heater, splitting my head open. 3. At age 6 I got hit in the face by a baseball bat and my nose slanted over to the left under my eye. It healed and it looks normal now. 4. I nearly got hit by a bus when I was 9, when I was chasing my dog across the street. 5. A few months ago I came inches away from getting hit by a blue car which skidded on wet pavement and nearly hit my right leg. That was gruesome, but each time I've survived. Each time, I've healed and went back to normal. I don't look like someone with my nose under my eye, a big scar on top of my head and a stretched upper lip. Just picture that. I broke my arm and my fingernails were touching the top of my forearm, but that's not life threatening. More like limb-threatening.
I remember when my cousin Jeffrey used to live with us. It was dinner, and it was really hot, and we didn't have the air-conditioning on, so I went to open a window, and my mom told Jeffrey to go help. (I can't believe she thinks I can't open up a simple window) So I accidentally layed my finger down on the bottom of the windowsill, where the window slides over, and he didn't know that my finger was there, so he just went whoosh and opened the window, going right over my right index finger. I suddenly yelled out in pain. It hurt like ####. Then I don't know what happened after that. But my right index finger still looks normal and still functions. I think it'd be cool if I had lost that finger though. What a conversation starter that'd be. Not life-threatening or as serious as any of Mark's situations, but it still hurt.
NEAR. DEATH. EXPERIENCES. STOP POSTING TO GET YOUR POST COUNT UP. Losing your finger is not a near death experience.
I have some personal ones, but I'll just share a couple. When I was going to be born, the ambilicle (sp) cord could have got caught around my neck, but I think I moved in time, or something and it missed getting caught around me. (Not near death) When I was born, my eyes didn't open for about two days or more. My parents were worried I'd be blind. But a few hours after that, my eyes opened . When I was about three, I was at the beach, and a huge swell took me under, and I was pulled out far into the deep. My parents were up drinking and joking around, and all the other people there were having too much fun to realize I was drowning out there, so I basically gave up trying to get back to the shore. But then all of a sudden the waves pushed me back to the beach, and I went about that day like nothing happened :chemist:. It's a bit bizarre how in every situation where something goes wrong, it turns around at the very last minute . If "death" is real, he must like toying with me or something :argh:.
It happened in December of 2001. My brother was driving me and one of his friends home from a youth event at my church. We were going a little too fast and hit some black ice. After that, we skid and hit a median. If we didn't hit the median, I don't wanna know what would have happened after that, all I know is that I could have died that day, and I'm extremely thankful I'm still breathing today.
Not too bad like everyone else's, but it was pretty darn scary. I was at Ward's (kind of like Sears) in the electronics department. I was looking through the phones for no particular reason and I hear something. There was a red truck that ran into the building and wasn't stopping and I just ran. I wasn't sure where it was coming from so I just ran and didn't look back until I was in the bed and baths department. I looked back and the truck didn't quite make it to the phones, but if I ran the other way, I would have run right into the truck. I was 11 or 12, and like I said, it was scary for me.
Not near death for me at least, but has been deadly in the past. Only happened about a month ago. Anyways, I had to go to a CompUSA not really close to my home to get an Airport card for my laptop (Too impaitent to wait to order online and have it shipped). I was in my mom's van. Now, we knew one of the rear tires wasn't in the best shape and it needed a bit of alignment, nothing we thought was serious at all and the repair work could have waited a month when my parents had more money. Or so we thought. Anyways, I went to CompUSA, get back on the highway (I-270 north for anyone who knows where in St. Louis that is). Now, I obey the speed limit on roads, but on a highway where I can go 70 without getting caught because people are passing me up, I sure as hell go between 70 and 75. So, driving along, on the left side, a huge tractor trailer passes me up, and the van starts swirving like hell. Being the wonderful driver I am , I managed to stay in the lane and didn't hit a thing except the brakes. So, I figured that was scary as hell, but then again, in drivers ed we learned that current weather and road conditions CAN cause that to happen with trucks. Was a first time for me though. So, anyways, I didn't pull over or anything, figured everything was OK. But, not even a mile later from where that happened, I heard a loud griding sound coming from the van and saw crap flying around in the mirror. I immedatley pulled over, looked out my sideview mirror. Nothing. Told my brother in the passengers side to look out his mirror and see if the tire was there. Sure enough, the tire was there, but had blown out and was in 2 pieces. So, call my mom on my cell phone, scared as ####, and she tells me to call AAA to have the spare tire put on (I know nothing when it comes to cars ) and I drove home without a problem. Next day, we took the car to the mechanic. We're told the tire that blew out was an old, worn, used tire made in 1996 (the van was made in 97). Which means that either a thief stole our good tire and put a bad one on, or the last mechanic we were at screwed us. Now, of course this was not really a near death experience based on what happened to me, but fatal accidents have happened from tire blowouts (the whole Explorer/Firestone thing) so I'm quite lucky that the only thing that happened to me was being scared shitless.
Well my friend pointed a .22 rifle at my head at the shooting range just to joke around. What a friend he is. I think he likes shooting me. He shot me with his little bb gun on my leg and my thumb.
Well, I'm not sure if this is a near death experience. But once I fainted and fell face first. I lost a tooth and a couple got loose. I than went to the hospital to just get my tooth fixed. When I went they ran tests than moved me to another hospital. Thats when I found out I had Leukemia and had to get a line around my pelvis area in order to "clean" my blood. If the miracle of me losing my tooth didn't happen, my doctor says I would of experiences liver failure and perhaps have died. So I consider this a near death experience. I was just lucky is all.
I was playing near a swimming pool once as a young child and my toy kept falling in and I didn't wanna keep bugging my mom to get it for me, as she was talking to a friend of hers. So I decided to reach over and try and get it, and I fell in. I tried yelling for help but water kept going in, and then I drowned. Then I woke up and my mom and some people were looking at me while I lied on my back. Scary.
I haven't really had any life threatening experiences...and I've never broken a limb in my life. But I did see my life flash before my eyes when my cousins were over and we were playing by the stairs. All of a sudden, I lost my footing and rolled down the stairs, and into the edge of the door, which was conveniently open. My head got a good dent in it. Luckily the impact wasn't enough to give me a concussion or anything. I was little so back then I thought it was near death :*(
