Hybrid Theory EP vs Hybrid Theory

I've brought this up because some people seem to prefer the EP over Hybrid Theory. Personally I think the EP doesen't come close to Hybrid Theory, infact it's perhaps my least favourite offering from LP. Especially lyrically, I much prefer the Hybrid Theory lyrics. But I want to know what other people think, what are your thoughts on the albums and which do you prefer?

I always thought the HTEP was highly overrated by some fans. There's some good lyrics (mainly Mikes rhymes), but other than that it sounds like what it is... a demo from an unsigned band.

Hybrid Theory. HTEP is extremely overrated, there are some good songs (And One) but really, it doesn't sound anything good in terms of professionalism and its too raw.

I would've liked to have seen more EP songs on HT, maybe making it longer.
EP was awesome, I love it still. Technique didn't really fit in though.

 

Actually, I think Hybrid theory is the album thats overated.

The HTEP has that qualitly of what HT would have souned like if it wasn't watered down & made radio friendly. Take 'part of me' as an example. Its so much darker than many of the songs from HT & beyond, and the lyrics are so deep and powerful, with a complex guitar riff and awesome bassline (which HT lacked with some of its songs). Carousel also had this, but not to that extent part of me has.

Step Up showcases how good mike can rap, and how he & brad's guitar can go so well together. Even the original High Voltage has alot going for it. Showing that even if chester isn't singing, his harmonies real give the song a deeper feel.

And then you have 'And One'. it is such a stand out track, with killer lyrics by chaz, that purhaps only crawling can match up too.

And knowing that 'Dedicated' was cut from the EP, just makes me like it even more. I just hope that for LP's next album, they'll bare in mind their HTEP, and make a masterpiece.

but i agree about with technique though. A long version would have been much better. Then again, we've always got Cure for the itch!

Hybrid Theory EP has some really nice songs but I think that Hybrid Theory is way better!

 

Part of Me is a great song but the seven minutes of static get annoying on an ipod haha. HT is better but just because it is longer. The EP is more diverse
