Was a single this is how I would hope the video would be. Hands Held High: Music Video Concept: By Gan Start of the video. The screen is black. The black fades to color and you see a van arriving in a parking lot. The parking lot is to a huge air port The door opens. People get out of the van, carrying instruments. The camera does not show who the people are until they arrive at the glass doors of the air port. They go inside and walk to the baggage check, setting up their instruments and such. The drums begin. Joe is holding up a sign that reads "Summon The Rhyme" in red letters. At the bottom right of the sign there is the linkin park emblem. [Camera] zooms to the Linkin Park logo. Pans over to Shinoda as he picks up the mic. "Turn my mic up louder" Mike looks at Chester. Chester whispers something to phoniex and then phoenix adjusts something on the stand while mike continues his rap. "I've got to say something" [Camera] Shows random people just passing by giving glance but not really stopping. [Camera] Pans across the air port showing quick scene with air port personal, that being security, people at reception desk. People in the gift shot, ect. [Camera] Goes back to Mike "Healing the blind I promise to let the sun in" [Camera] Shows employees chatting away to each other. Then shows one customer of the gift shop walking out and heading towards the band. By now there are a few dozen people standing watching as mike raps. Shows mike rapping again, then pans to show. Joe looks at the people and does something crazy. Joe turns the "Summon The Rhyme" upside down. Then shows rob(he's the drummer right? lol) playing the drums. Then shows the band as a whole playing. The camerar shows the crowd, they are nodding, chatting away quietly to each other. [Camera] Shows air port security, a single man, walks up to the band. He goes to mike and says "Sir, we have been reported that you are causing a disturbance" Mike: "Fuck that I want to see some fist pumping" The crowd throws their fists in the air. Security: "Sir I'm telling you, you have to stop or I will have to use force" Mike waves him away, and then the man talks on his walkie "Disturbance is refusing to comply..." Then he is stopped short, as Chester takes it from him [Camera] Shows the whole band, and then zooms across the air port again as more people come to see what’s going on Mike "Like what did he say" Middle of Video Chester + rest of the band "Amen" Crowd goes "Amen" Chester talks into the walkie "Amen" [Camera] goes across the air port into a security office a man is sitting, a walkie on the desk. it goes "Amen" he looks bewildered and comes out of the office walking down hallways and then on an elevator, he presses the bottom but its stuck, he presses it again, still stuck on more time and it goes. it goes to its destination, and then the security officer realizes he pressed the wrong floor number and presses the right one. Then the camera follows him to the band. [Camera] Show the crowd in a furry, some are jumping up and down, some are shaking their heads in agreement. all the while mike has gone back to rapping and is now on the line "There's bombs in the buses, bikes, roads, inside your market, your shops, clothes" Passer bys hear the word bomb and stack ducking, some covering their heads with their hands, others running out of the air port from fear. The officer goes up to mike, one takes one of his hands and begins to hands cuff it "Sir in the view of the air port, that is considered a threat, and is a very serious crime." Mike continues to rap” When the rich wage war its the poor who die" Climax and Ending of video [Camera] The camera shows security places mikes hands behind his back handcuffing both" Chester and the rest of the band try to shove security out of the way, then camera goes to outside where cops arrive and walk into the building, they tell the members to raise their hands, and they do. Mike sings. "With hands held high into a sky so blue" Police leads the band outside, and the crowd follows. "As oceans open up to swallow you" Police hand cuffs the rest of the band, and lead them into two different cars, the crowd then begins to shake the cars as the cops try to pull off "As oceans open up to swallow you" The crowd goes "Amen" [Lip singing] (Obviously) With the last line the camera zooms into the sky showing white nimbus clouds and a totally blue sky. [Camera] "goes into the air port where Joe has left the sign "Summon The Rhyme" As oceans up to swallow you" A janitor picks it up and throws it away. [Camera] Video then fades back to black" "With hands held high into a sky so blue as oceans open up to swallow you" The End. Note: This is just a sloopy idea I didnt really plan anything out but just typed as I thought about it so there may be some inconsistancies and what not. ---------------------- Your ideas for a video?
Your idea of an HHH video is very nice. I can't imagine it to be any better (if it's ever made). I kind of thought that if an HHH video was to be made, LP would go Green Day's way and introduce it as a movie while Linkin Park are on the side performing the song while the scenes change as the song progresses, but that sounds pretty unoriginal
it'd be really awkward, like, really awkward for me to watch a scene where LP are getting arrested ... <.<
not a bad idea actually. some tweaking here and there and that could be a really good music video. but honestly I think if LP made HHH as a single they would do something in a similar vein to what i've done or from the inside where professional actors would do all the acting and the band would play elsewhere, but I like it
I really like this idea actually. Would require a few tweaks yes but the way I imagine it makes for a very interesting video. A lot of slow motion shots, that kind of thing. Plus I wouldn't dare break the music to have security guards talking, i'd just leave it to the viewer to assume what they're saying.
This is a masterful idea, if this was actually made into a video, it would surpass From the Inside for sure.
Yeah, just to clear it up. I meant for all talking that isn't in the original studio version on the minutes to midnight album to be subtitled and not dubed. Lol, breaking the video for talking is STUPID lol. Well, atleast in this video it would be.
wow cool i can imagine the video in my head!! damn i hope they make a video of this song its just so amazing
That was fantastic.... Gan... every time i read one of your video ideas it feels like I'm reading an awesome story. Maybe we wouldn't hear the cop as he says the disturbance part? Not sure, it's all good though. It's so great man... if they made this into a video I'd be delighted. I can imagine everything happening there that you said in sequence, and it's just so perfect! Over all, well Done man! 5 Stars! Great Job, and keep it up!
Do you have any experience in Film and Video? If you do, just make the videos yourself. Find someone that looks similar to the band members, or perhaps just has the right presence, to be stand ins. Lip-synch it all. OR, if you are really into it, find people who can actually perform these songs, and do it like that. It seems like such a waste to simply post these ideas on a forum and never get the chance to see it in action.
The only video I ever made was a shadow of the day one with a 25$ webcam. I do not have the money to film. And if i did, i would have did it along time ago.
