Linkin Park's "What I've Done" is featured in the trailer for a new documentary called The 11th Hour. The 11th Hour is a documentary which explores the impact of human activity on Earth's ecosystems. Much like fellow documentary An Inconvenient Truth and the Live Earth concert series in which Linkin Park participated last weekend, The 11th Hour is a wake-up call that we as humans need to begin changing the way we consume products in our every day lives so that we can ensure the stability of our planet. Narrated by Leonardo DiCaprio and with input from many of the world's leading scientists, thinkers and leaders, the film goes about presenting the facts about climate change, along with suggestions on how to lessen our contributions to the problem. The movie will be released August 17th. You can view the trailer here. Thanks to Feenix!
Yeah I thought that too when I found it. The song, if you think about it generally is about what the documentary is about. No doubt why they used it.
Nice. Great thing LP is concerned of such things. As a 'huge' band I hope they'll have a huge effect on people as well.
I really agree wholeheartedly with the guy who claimed that this crisis of which we're facing isn't exactly a technical issue, but more of a leadership one.
That actually looks really interesting. It should be noted that it is a WB Film. So of course they would use Linkin Park. It makes it better for them as well, and they probably don't have to pay LP very much to do it, if anything at all. So it's also saving WB money, + no charge to WB for every time the commercial play's that song, + will help to bring even more to see it, then what would of probably seen it originally.
For an artist, there is no better compliment than for their work to have such an impact on other artists and other people that the song becomes ubiquitous. For the fans of the music, it gets stale because they've heard the song more than most. But for those not aware of the band or for those who are watching, listening, and experiencing other things in their life...a well placed song can add to that experience. This song, as with many on "Minutes to Midnight" fits in perfectly with this type of topic. That should come as no surprise, considering LP's humanitarian efforts.
I understand that but what I'm saying is just what's coming from ol' "let's watch tv or turn on the radio" person and every five minutes I hear that song.
Interesting, maybe I should tell my next science teacher to rent a video and let our whole entire class watch for the period.
I would appreciate the song being in that movie much more. Had I not dislike Al Gore and anyone who tries to copy his movie style.
this song is being used for everything. I hear it on radio and mtv all the time. It is almost in the history books...who would have thought it could out do numb when it came out?
