I found this site and found it was interesting: ethanhaaswasright on a lost site, and people were making rumors that this was connected to that 1.18.08 movie. It may or may not be, but it's still pretty intriguing anyway so I thought I'd post it in here. You have to do some crazy puzzle to see this weird trailer. I got the first puzzle which was to click on the symbols on the sphere in the order they flash. I didn't get the second puzzle yet though. I don't know, it may or may not be connected towards Cloverfield but it seems possible enough. ;P
It'd be pretty awesome if it were actually connected to Lost, but I really doubt it because first of all it'd be pretty weird to name another character Ethan in your series, unless it's the same one...
My head just nearly exploded. I don't think I've ever been this excited about the possibility of something occurring. That would be crazy.
Yeah I never necessarily said I thought it was connected to Lost, but it was just on a lost site where I found it. They put it up because of J.J. Abrams of course. I doubt it's the same Ethan from Lost as well, It could just be a coincidence it's the same name. I think the whole thing kinda sounds 'Lost-like' though, mainly because of all the mystery and what not surrounding the whole thing.
That looks so awesome It doesnt sound like a monster, more like a robot/alien thing and it actually DOES kinda sound like the monster from Lost
Am I the only one who thinks that this looks really cheesey? It does intrigue me, though. JJ Abrahms is great, so it might be good.
the ethanhaaswasright.com site is not official, according to j.j. abrams. but 1-18-08.com is, albeit it has virtually nothing on it. and, apparently, there are more sites to come.
I for one got excited after seeing j.j. abrams' name. LOST is one of my favorite shows, and after that was an amazing preview, perfect for peaking your interest and keep you guessing what its all about.
you know, i really wasted my time yesterday on those ethanhaaswasright.com puzzles. i think i spent an hour before i realised it was unofficial. >.<
the shot of the people running in the street points straight to godzilla. but, seeing the flying object which exploded on contact with the building, i thought, that's not something godzilla's packing. so, now, i have an alternative possible answer -- mechagodzilla.
Well one, Sony owns the rights to Godzilla, not Paramount. Two, the Japanese company that shares the rights to Godzilla with Sony has a kind of embargo in place prohibiting the Godzilla image from being used until after 2013.
Cant wait till this comes out. The trailer actually scared me a little which means it should be good. I thought it was the Escape From New York remake until I saw the name.
People running in the streets =/= Godzilla. Scenes of people running in fear down a trashed street is like, THE shot for all monster movies. Whether it was the 1930s (I think) with King Kong or recent times with The Host, it'd be foolish to so blatantly assume by the street shots that it's got to do with Godzilla. Starting a slow clap isn't exactly a showmanship for fear now is it? Anyways, I think the reason the teaser got/is getting so much hype is its mysteriousness. Forcing people to look to their own imagination to explain what exactly is going on is what makes this type of marketing so popular nowadays. Probably because it breaks up the monotony of your average run of the mill teaser. It can also kill the hype of a movie as well if they let people let their imaginations run too rabid.
To me this movie would be ideal if they prolong showing the whole monster for as long as they can. Maybe only offering glimpses. The viewer would get so scared shitless that by the time they see the monster they'd be like OMFG.
