Hey, thought I'd post this topic since I kinda had a cool experience myself. Fairly simple, has there ever been a time when you have connected with another person through a common love of LP's music and if so how. For instance: I went to Germany this last June and was able to meet and have these two girls there show me around the town I was staying in. Never knew either of them before but I knew before hand that one of them was celebrating their birthday while I was there. So taking a shot in the dark, I picked up Meteora as a present. Low and behold it turns out they both are crazy about Linkin Park's music and did not have the new album! It really made us all connect and now I have two pen pals in Germany.
I first heard Linkin Park's music in April 2002 and I joined the LPA in late July, early August. I've met people from all over the world and got my first girlfriend, too.
I bought LP's CD in Oct 2001 and met the cashier. But seriously, I havent really met anyone through LP.
I heard LP's "One Step Closer" on Muchmusic in November 2000 and asked my friend for some tracks. He sent me "Papercut", "Runaway" and "Forgotten" and I thought the songs were pretty good so I downloaded "Hybrid Theory" and put it on a cd with Finger Eleven's "The Greyest of Blue Skies". I was a big Finger Eleven fan before I became a huge LP fan, so through listening to the Linkin Park songs in between Finger Eleven tracks, I developed a liking for them, which would later translate into pure obsession. I joined the Linkin Park Message Board in November 2001 after buying the Frat Party DVD but I didn't post until about May 2002 because of the hype for Reanimation. On the LPMB, I met alot of people who would later become my fellow staffmates here at the LPA. Me and Will (Kurosakai), who were like a tag-team on the LPMB, constantly backing each other up and fighting with others, originally fought with Derek (LinkiedTheory) about a 16 second clip that they called the beginning of "Enth E Nd" but I thought it was the ending to "Pts.Of.Athrty". One day I messaged Alex (Buztin) about his "Pts.ofAthrty" signature on the LPMB because I thought it was awesome. A few weeks later, after pairing up with Derek, Gary and Omar (Omihomi28), Alex asked me to join his staff, along with his fellow invision board staff member Todd, who was a big LP fan too. Through the LPMB and LPAF, my MSN contact list went from 20 school friends to 120+ contacts in all. I've developed many friendships through these forums, and I think music is a great way to make friends.
When I was a freshman in High School, I met a lot of friends who were fans of Linkin Park and other music I was into. So in that way, I met my friends through music. Another thing, my boyfriend didn't like Linkin Park that much, but when we started dating, he decided to buy all of LP's cds and become a fan of their music, just because I like them. How sweet, right? He really loves Linkin Park now. Their music really grew on him. So in that way, are relationship is stronger because we both share the love for Linkin Park's music. Music is powerful.
As Mark said, I knew Alex from working at Invision with him (neither of us work there now though) and he knew I liked LP so he asked me to be on the LPA staff. And that's how I met all of you
I've met alot of people. Since it's late, i'll mention one person... I met Will on the LP forums (was his name Akuma Suma, or something like that?). Yeah, I hated him and I think it was the same way back. Then I just stumbled onto these forums...
I met Will through LP. It's kind of bizarre. First I got a submission from my site telling me how great my site was--the usual stuff people tell you about your site, and I just started e-mailing him and he e-mailed me back and all... Then I found out the biggest 'behind-the-scene' thing about LP on the web. Will blabbed on the LPMB and got me busted, I ditched the LPMB quite after that and came here. Personally I think I support LPA more than I do my own website . Thanks to Will I think SLICE of Sparkart hates me now .

[/b][/quote] That is one cool story, its weird how music can do a thing like that, lol all my friends are pissed off at me for my obsession lol i talk about linkin park so much they actually hate the fact that linkin park exist apart from that they actually like their music haha i must be really bad
Well due to LP me and my friend have grown a bond with eachother. I know of Fans of LP at my Highschool, but i never really hang out with them.
word. I met one of my best friends through Linkin Park..I was in communications class one day..and I was wearing my backpack with all my Linkin Park patchs and pins..and then she tapped me on my sholder and showed me her backpack with patchs of Linkin Park, and since then we call each other LP buddies since no one else in our school likes Linkin Park anyways.
I had a few particular friends whom I met in middle school, but only knew them through other friends. We would talk once in a while, but I didn't really know them. But then high school came and we had same classes, so we would exchange sn's and talk online. I guess they noticed I liked LP because I had a LP buddy icon. So then I discover he's a big fan of LP too, and so are a few of his friends. Sophomore year was when we started hanging out with them at lunch and we would play Linkin Park on his speakers in the halls and get weird looks from the kids passing by.
