My Friend Doesn't Like LP!

My best friend says she's getting annoyed by Linkin Park because she listened to some of their lyrics and says they sound like constant babbling. Well I'm sick of her critisizing every thing I like and I need help in trying to find a way to prove her wrong because I reeeeaaally suck at doing that and I don't wanna make her mad.

Explain to me what that means, I think I do but I'm not sure. She said this part sounded stupid and said it doesn't make sense and I don't wanna go up to her trying 2 prove a point and what i'm saying doesn't make sense either. Okay you guys have NO Idea how badly I wanna prove this point to her, because every time she has to be the one right and this time I wanna shove it in her face. I mean the other day she was making fun of me for liking LP come, on!

 

in my opinon, when i hear those lyrics i see someone who seems to find themself in a repeated memory of someone, and they become suddenly aware of the person he or she is remembering, knowning no matter where he or she is, he or she will still be in his memory, he or she will always be with you. It depends on who listens to it, LP likes to have their fan come up with their own association with their songs.

 

I don't try to figure out what it means, LP says they write about the emotion and not the situation. I just "sit and vibe" i guess. If you really listen, like I'm looping KRWLING, I don't need to hear the words to see the soul, you know? I just get the emotion, hear the not-quite-hidden tired, sorrowful emotion behind the singing, and then the sorrowful orchestration in the background putting a kinda mellow feeling on me. Do the lyrics really matter? He could be singing Blah-blah, blah, but if he sang it the same way people would still feel the song, if not understand. It's like a scent, you don't have to know what corresponds to the scent to know what the scent is. Don't know if that helps you or not.

 

Actually that sorta does help, but I dunno if i'm still gonna get through my friend with that but I like the way u said that ur right lol. My friend is soooo wierd at times I just don't understand her, she said "Well I think that most of the lyrics they wrote didn't even mean anything, they sound like they're talking about...NOTHING!" and I was like, "Why would they talk about nothing, that's stupid?" and she said, "Well they probably were like, 'oh we just wanna make money so lets just write a song that doesn't make sense and make people think it does so they'll think were deep'" But I don't think LP would do that I mean, I listened to their lyrics and I understand alot of it, alot of it takes me a while to understand but I do understand it. Some I can't even put into words I mean it's like the only way you can describe it is through the song and there's no other way. It's like, you understand it but if you put it into your own words,you just can't and then you DON'T understand it....it's wierd....

 

When i first heard those lyrics..it kind of reminded me of someone i was really close with and i havent talked to in a long to..and remembering all the good times we have..and how it is just all memories now..and how I was the reason the relationship was borken off..

 

Your Friend is shallow. Try talking to her with LP lyircs.

Yeah I know she can be a lil shallow at times but she's going through alot right now, her Dad has threatend to beat her and she has been going 2 court with her Mom, Brother, and Sister for like every day the past 2 months. She really is a nice person, I think she does like LP she just wants to take out her anger on somthing, and that somthing just might be me....

This seems kind of pointless to me. Your friend doesn't like Linkin Park, big deal. Lots of people don't like Linkin Park.

Technically in my life, and where I live--it's a sin to love rock. I have about three friends who like rock. Suck it up--There's worse in the world than your friend not liking Linkin Park. Just be glad your ass ins't a target almost everywhere you go around where you live.

 

Who cares. Not to sound really rude or anything - I mean I'm sure that
as a friend of yours her opinion is probably important to you, but if it's not her thing whatever. I think the lyrics make a lot of sense, but one of the nice things about LP is that everybody can have their own interpretation of the lyrics. They may mean a lot to you, or nothing to her. Whatever. If she's constantly bitching about them then just say "my house, my music. You can either suck it up or leave."

 

Yeah I know I shouldn't care or anything it's just for once in my life I want to prove somthing to her, and me and her have nothing in common anymore and I want us to have somthing we both like to talk about. I'm just sick of it that's all and every time she always HAS to be right. She likes proving her points in everything and last time she did sshe called me selfish because I burned CD's. She's changed alot, I want my best friend back....

 

I know a lot of people who have to be right all the time. It's just something you have to live with--unless they change. Maybe there might be a time in their life where they finally see something that'll spark a "hey, that's something LP was talking about" or something sometime in their life; who knows. I'm just saying that if they're the type where everything they say has to be right--it's unlikely you'll change that about the person. The best thing is not to challenge it. Maybe find something else to find a common bond in? I don't know .

I know it's just I wish she wasn't so mean about the things I like and respect how I feel. She doesn't do that and i'm trying 2 get her to understand that the way she's acting is hurting others and not just me, there's somthing strange going on with her latley that's all. She doesn't wanna talk to me, she yells at me all the time, and she's always just not wanting to talk she not her perky, usual self and I wanna find out why she's doing this.

 

Maybe she's tired of you trying to get her to like Linkin Park? :wth:
