According to numerous reports, including a first-hand encounter by yours truly, it appears Warner Music Canada has recalled the Special Edition CD/DVD combo of Minutes To Midnight due to a defect that restricts the viewing of certain content. HMV and Future Shop have removed the Special Edition from their shelves as a result of this recall. There is no known ETA for when this mistake will be rectified and proper working editions will be returned to Canadian shelves. We will keep you posted. Thanks to Omar A and cp32 for corroborating stories.
I wonder if this is true for the copy I bought in HMV. I am in the UK, but I can't seem to view some of the special content when I put the DVD in my computer.
Yeah, when I was at HMV earlier today they said that the Special Editions they got were defective. I still managed to find one at Wal-Mart, so hopefully mine is a good copy.
'Tis true. I was quite pissed off, but I got the regular one. I'll grab a special edition when it arrives back on shelves.
The guy at my HMV said "If you find it somewhere else, don't buy it. It's a Warner Canada thing, not an HMV thing."
I cant beleive this! I was so pissed T_T. I went to best Buy and they were sold out, then I went to Future shop and said it was defective so I was like aww
could be a region coding issue but then again US & Canada share the same region. Either way, (it's not illegal) but try using a program called Slysoft's AnyDVD and see if the disc works then. It'll remove the region code and any copy protection from the disc. It's a retail product you could buy in the store (or download as a demo) so there's nothing illegal about using it.
The CD is fine, its just the DVD thats messed up apparently. How long do you think it will be before we are able to buy them again?
