Ok, today something really weird happened, when I opened Adobe After effects it disabled aero o_O. As soon as I closed after effects it went back to normal though, I have no idea why it does this, does anybody have similar problems?

Yeah, when I was on Vista [not anymore, yesss], it used to happen for certain applications [usually video]. If an application is resource intensive, then Vista switches to Basic.

to me, that's a good idea. so your system doesn't lag, it takes a precaution that you most likely won't notice.

My system lags more when it switches between Aero/Basic than when the actual program is running. *rolls eyes* Used to take at least a minute to finally settle down.
