Congrats to Linkin Park on having a record-breaking sixth consecutive #1 single, with their first single from Minutes To Midnight, "What I've Done". The song debuted at #1 on the national alternative charts in the US, as well as at spot #3 on active charts.

The string of consecutive #1 singles started at the beginning of the Meteora single-cycle with "Somewhere I Belong", "Faint", "Numb", "Lying From You", and "Breaking The Habit" hitting the #1 spot in succession. One can only imagine that the streak won't be ending for quite some time.

As much as I hate the fact that this is Linkin Park's record (because it proves how commercial the band is), it's impressive that they were able to pull something like this off. Obviously, no other band has been able to. It just goes to show one how much exposure Linkin Park really gets.

Hmm, the only singles that didn't hit first on the charts was Papercut, From The Inside and Points of Authority Remix. But why isn't From The Inside part of the chart?

And woah, 100,000 downloads for a single? That's hot.

Papercut and FTI were not North American releases, and thus, not played on the radio.

    Pts.of.Athtrty just wasn't good enough.

Though they weren't played on the radio when they were released as singles outside of North America, I have heard "Papercut" and "From the Inside" on the radio (in my area, at least).

How come they weren't North American releases? Was it because massive hits like 'In The End' and 'Numb' shot up into the charts and didn't come down for a good long time?

No. It depends on where the label wants to expose the band, and if they provide "area-only" singles, it's as if they actually care more about that part of the world than they really do.

Because, you know, Warner cares about everyone.

What your radio stations do is up to them, but they were not released officially in North America, as you know.

Congrats to LP, hopefully they can continue thier streak with the next few singles. Though, I am pretty surprised. I have not heard What I've Done on the radio at all.

Oh, I know that. I was just stating that, though they weren't officially released, they were still played on radio stations.

It was more or less to clear up any ensuing questions anyone was going to ask. You know the questions: "BUT I HEARD THAT SONG ON THE RADIO BEFORE WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT."
