I was just wondering what some of you guys thought Linkin Park is going to do with their new sets on tour? I mean.. They want to leave that old sound behind, what do you think they're going to do with the old material? Do you think they'll play a majority of the new album with the hits? Do you think they'll reinvent some songs? Ideas?
Its hard to guess what they're going to scrap from their sets. Normally I'd assume they'd scrap songs such as Somewhere I Belong, which were obviously just written to be hits. But for Summer Sonic, they got rid of A Place For My Head, which I always considered to have some of the best lyrics and musicianship they're shown. And who knows if they'll even be able to play some of the new songs live, they did say in one interview that some would be extremely difficult to pull off.
I've just been thinking about how they don't want to be put in that genre anymore.. but I really can't see them scrapping all of those songs. I think they'll definitely have to play the big hits like In The End and Breaking The Habit, because of how many people in the audience are just waiting for those songs.
they'll have to play the old, or fans will be disappointed at live shows. while i'm sure the new music is great, they gotta go back to the old tracks. probably do mostly new with some old is my guess.
I'm sure they'll change up some things about the older songs just because they've been known to do that live for tours. I also think that they're going to have to skip playing some of their older singles, if they want to incorporate new songs into the set.
Obviously, they're going to play old tracks. I think, though, that they'll play a lot of new songs during the sets. They've got to. And I hope they keep QWERTY on their sets. That'd be amazing.

There are some songs that Linkin Park might play, like Breaking The Habit which is clearly electronica featuring no heavy guitar riffs or resembling anything close to nu metal sort of. In The End is a classical hit, Nobody's Listening is totally different from all the other tracks on their studio albums, and the good ol' Reanimation shit.
