I need a guitar riff that is playable over rap. If you know of one please share. I need it for a religion project (lol) we might do a rap song (not my idea) about the gospels (lol again).
... Not helping. [Actually... Fort Minor has used guitar riffs in rap songs, along with some other artists, too. probably couldn't name them, though. But even Linkin Park has guitar riffs over the raps.]
I would just start messing around, keeping it really simple, until you get something that matches. Helps if you have musical ears. Also, rap + religion? !
lol sorry, and yeah i know its funny, we might not do it still. Of course im the only one in the group who likes metal. Its gonna be so funny though because i mean who can take somebody rapping about the gospel of mathew seriously lol.
i don't know whats so weird about that. hip hop is just another way of expressing yourself, just like gospel or worship music plus, since you're into "metal" do you find metal bands screaming over pinch harmonics about the gospel of mathew odd? and apparently you haven't attempted producing hip hop music, if you think it isn't complicated. as for the question at hand, pretty much any guitar riff will do. do it yourself if you want. if not, pick one out of a song. rage against the machine, lynyrd skynyrd, even led zeppelin riffs have been used in popular rap music. now i'm not trying to insult or belittle anybody, just open your eyes
lol, i would think that gospel metal would be a little weird too. But thanks for the advice. I remember a really good one, but I cant remember the song name. Its a KoRn song. I think it might have nbeen thoughtless, ill look for it.
Good one, Franny. Hip Hop can be very complicated indeed, I think it would be helpfull to listen to some music that's like what you have in mind. Then start of that.
I definitely have, and I still think you should keep a guitar riff in a rap song simple. Seriously... who thinks you should have a complicated guitar riff in a rap song? Especially with the project being worked on.
