Whenever I run vista to look in my documents, etc, after awhile all the sudden a dialogue message pops up saying windows explorer hasstopped working and it shuts down all exploring windows, and reloads the task bar. Why is it doing this?
The taskbar reloads because it's part of explorer.exe. Now, the reason explorer is crashing in the first place, I have no clue. *shrug*
That's happened in XP before. Could be some malware has messed up something... have you been using IE? And have you been applying any updates if possible? HAHAH TODD WE GET IT! YOU NEED TO COME IN EVERY WINDOWS RELATED TOPIC AND TELL EVERYONE IN OR NO INDIRECTLY THAT MACS RULE. YOU'RE THE COOLEST TODD. YOU'RE AWESOME. YOU CAN CODE PHP AND TROUBLESHOOT MYSQL, YOU MUST BE SOME KIND OF GENIUS CHILD. YOU WORK AT THE IT DESK, HOTDAMN! YOU'RE AWESOME TODD! LETS BUILD A TODD SHRINE, AND AT THE BASE WILL BE A FUCKING MACBOOK AND AN IPOD! AND AT THE VERY BOTTOM WE'RE GOING TO PUT A THREAD THAT TODD CLOSED AFTER HE PUT HIS OPINION IN BUT DIDNT LET ANYONE CHALLENGE HIM BECAUSE HES THE BIG BAD PHP CODER!! OH NOES!
Im using Firefox, and it only happens when I try and copy a file. It asks to restart or check for a solution online, both do the same thing, and neither help.
If you've installed something that wasn't meant for vista or is labeled as beta that might have something to do with it, if not I'm going to suggest doing a system restore as I think something got corrupted somewhere down the line. Do an ad aware scan first though just to be sure.
Calm the hell down. No offense intended since we talk on MSN at times, but you deserved the warning you got for that. That was out of control. If you don't like what someone says, quite simply..don't respond to it. Flipping out like you just did...is NOT the answer. That's just crazy how how you snapped. I'd close this thread except the guy's question hasn't been answered yet.
start>all programs>accessories>system tools>system restore I know vista's start menu's a little different, I only had it installed for about 4 hours, but hopefully this helps. Although it's been a few days since the issue so youre going to have to roll back a bit of stuff possibly :/
Not really ownage when everything Neil said about me was either false or a smart ass comment and he got a warning. General rule of thumb, don't attempt to own those who have the power to warn or even ban you And let's drop it, the next one to even mention what happened will feel the wrath of my owning powers.....
The only reason I said that is because Neil is one of my good friends and I'm sure he was kidding. I didn't think he was being serious at all... :O Thought he was being sarcastic/funny, so it was a pwn, but I guess not :O
Ok,I tried to system restore, but I never created a system restore point, so is there anything else I can do?
