I'm sure they'll end up doing at least one more album. Right now they all just need a break from each other.

Serj and Daron have been babblin' at each other, and they just need to do their own thing. It seems like there has been a desire from each one of the members to have a fair share of control creatively, and a chance for each one of the members to do their own solo thing is just the cure.

Toxicity was their best album by far, and when the two new ones came out it was all the same sound over and over throughout it. Besides that they only got tons of attention for how against the war.

If they break up I'm not going to be upset because their best years are behind them it seems like.
I know I just pissed of a shit ton of people haha.

I disagree. I think they've been pushing their same agenda all throughout, and I think they spent more time publicly acknowledging the Armenian Genocide instead of bothering with the war.

I don't know how you can say their new albums were the same throughout. You have ballads, you have insane quick songs, you have some normal rockin' songs, and you have some experimental songs that showed off some completely new sounds for them. How is that the same?

That would be awful if they broke up,some solo work would be quite interesting. There first 3 album (soad,Toxicity,Steal This Album) were awesome albums and some of the best in my collection.

Awesome. One less politically-charged band in the world.

I'm not bothered by the news. They had some good songs but I couldn't stand them for the most part.

I agree Will. They were good in toxicity, until they got political.

Until they got political? Ha. System of a Down AND Toxicity were both extremely political. Steal This Album! is Toxicity scrapped songs!

Mezmerize and Hypnotize are political? Whaaaat? System of a Down have repeatedly said they are definitely not a political band. They aren't in any way. They just say what's on their mind, and sometimes they have political topics on their mind.

If anything I think they've gotten less political.

And what's wrong with being political? Better than most of the crap out there where they whine about how much their life sucks

And what's the reason for their political songs? Because it hits close to home for them. It's very personal for them. Their political topics are usually the Armenian Genocide and the war in Iraq. Why? Because they all have family in Iraq, and the Armenian Genocide has affected Serj's family.

They're trying to get recognition for something that some people are ignoring. If you had family in the Holocaust and there were countries saying it never happened wouldn't you think it'd be a noble cause to fight for? The recognition of the Holocaust?

I've got a feeling they have at least one more good album in them, if they can stay together.

There were not that many experimental things in the new albums.

They had a shitty sound all through the new ones, their lyrics sucked this time around. and the reason why I say it sounded the same was because both the albums you could put in and listen and they're all in the same 3 keys, and the sounds have the same setup soundwise. The clean songs have one sound, the heavy ones have another.

    Shazam there it is.

Toxicity was their best because nothing had the same sound really and they all had different set ups.

    A lot.

Who the hell wants to hear whining, when Bush will be out in two years? I'm fucking tired of it. Nobody cares for this president, we all know that already, so lets sing about crap that really matters to people. Political = uncreative and I will stop listening to LP if they go that route.

Some political stuff is uncreative, but SOAD's music doesn't really focus on one person. A lot of it is about the Armenian Genocide, and the rest is government and estabilshment in general. They don't really have any songs that say "[insert politician here] Sucks"
