Well I thought there'd probably be a big enough fanbase to start a topic like this...

What manga are you reading and/or what anime are you currently watching?

I'm kind of behind in terms of both. I've only ever watched Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, and Samurai Champloo the whole way through and I'm rather embarassed at how little manga I've actually read.

Currently though I'm going through Season 1 of Bleach, Gun X Sword, and reading DNAngel, Shaman King, Bleach, and Deathnote.

On another note, I'm incredibly frustrated in random skips at bookstores. Like they'll have volumes 1-5, then skip over to 10. I started on DNAngel, found a skip at my bookstore, so I started reading Bleach. Then I got to a skipping point there and started reading Shaman King. And so on and so forth.

Anyways, enough of my rambling. Manga/Anime away!

Some people here are going to have a field day with this thread. To each his own I suppose.

Cowboy Bebop and Trigun are two of my favorites. I've seen every episode of the Dragon Ball series too.

My favorite movies are probably Spriggan and the original Ghost in the Shell (that inspired the series). Great movies.

Oh I guess I should probably mention movies and such too.

Love me that Akira and any Studio Ghibli. Others I enjoyed were Ghost In The Shell, Ninja Scroll (hey now  ) and, to be quite honest, Tenchi Muyo! In Love. First anime movie I ever saw when I was a kid and I was hooked.

Dragonball? Dang that brings back memories. Back when I used to look up the future of the Z series while it was on Namek and/or Vegeta reruns. I would tell my friends about Super Saiyan, Trunks, and all that and they never believed me.

Hehe and I was a closet Moonlight Knight fan. Oh Sailor Moon, haha.

In terms of anime I've watched but never finished, there are a whole bunch.

I've always thought Manga/Anime was great and one of my friends used to talk about it all the time.

I've seen most of the Dragonball episodes too and I used to be (when I was little) a big Pokémon fan, but I don't think these two really qualify as good Manga/anime.

I used to watch Samurai X all the time, which I still think is an awesome serie.

I've seen some movies too, but I never seem to remember the names...

I like the Cromartie High School, GTO, Buddha and Spawn mangas, and a couple of others. I'm probably more of a casual fan.

I don't watch much anime though.

Sometimes anime annoys the shit out of me, especially when they do a crappy job of dubbing it. I've grown to love the Japanese voices and subtitles.

Thanks to the video games, I'm very much a big fan of Wangan and Initial D.

Yeah, I also prefer foreign vocals with subtitles, not just in anime. I think Yakuza (the game) would have been a lot better that way.

I'm a huge fan of the whole Dragonball legacy, it's godamn frustrating how FUNimation is handling it though. Season sets for the entire series will be released next year, in widescreen..( the anime is not meant to be in widescreen, therefore it may very likely look like shit with footage cut everywhere )

But anywho, besides being a fan of Dragonball, I also love the Rurouni kenshin series, I still haven't watched the animated version however.

Currently, I'm watching Bleach, the filler in the series right now is actually quite entertaining. Naruto however...err there's been over 80 episodes of filler now I believe? Very..very frustrating.

I've stopped collecting the Tenjho Tenge manga, due to the censorship and all that, and I'd like to read up on Death Note, but I'm still deciding whether or not to spend cash on each volume.

Well, i'm a little behind on my anime at the moment, but my favourites are currently Naruto and Bleach. However they're both on filler, so i've given up on watching until January when (apparently) they're ending *shrug* I started to watch some Death Note, but lack of space on my hard-drive is making it hard to keep up with that. Same goes for another favourite of mine, NaNa (Brilliant anime, watch it!) Oh and some other (older) animes i love are Rurouni Kenshin (Samurai X to Americans) and Elfen Lied (If you like it graphic)

I never watch anime dubbed. Only ever watched Rurouni Kenshin dubbed because the subs annoyed the shit out of me. I prefer the original actors over some monotone American trying to recreate the personality of the characters.

As for manga, i'm collecting a few series. Angel Sanctuary, Absolute Boyfriend, Godchild, Battle Royale, Kingdom Hearts and the Cain Saga should be on it's way next year. Yeah, i'm reading all of these  Lots of manga! Angel Sanctuary owns though, read it if you like graphic fantasy. In fact, try and find anything by Kaori Yuki, she's a brilliant Manga artist

You should so totally READ bleach and Naruto instead, SOOOO much better AND there's no filler!

Naruto is filler just so the manga can catch up in terms of you know, a season's worth of material. The manga is going strong and it's pretty badass.

Just remembered I used to watch Wolf's Rain too.

And I started with Samurai Champloo yesterday, which is pretty awesome. Going to check out Naruto, Bleach,... everything that's mentioned in here too.

Thanks for making the thread. :D

Oh yeah, i forgot about them  I've got all the manga downloaded, but i'm still a few chapters behind. Yeah, the manga is way better than the anime, then again, most are

Oh yeah, and i forgot to mention, Angel Sanctuary has three OVA's which covers the first arc of the manga (4 volumes). Check it out to see what you think ;)

    No problem.

If we're making suggestions, I suggest EVERYONE see Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, and Samurai Champloo.

Finally caught up with Death Note, I don't want to watch the anime and the manga is currently up to 8 out of 12. So now I wait until January for the next book to come out.
