I don't get why everyone is knocking MCR's live show. They're excellent live and I've seen them 3 times. Just because you watch them on TV and Gerard's voice isn't spot on all the time, doesn't mean that they don't put on a good show. They have more energy and chemistry on stage than just about any other band I've seen live. I'm not the only one that thinks so either. They were like number 13 in the top 20 live acts of today in Blender magazine and I know Kerrang! always gives them a 4 or 5 Ks everytime a show of theirs is reviewed.
Well, I've never had much regard for either Kerrang! or Blender, and the reason I don't like MCR is because they're just another pop-punk band with an annoying vocalist. The guitar and bass is standard at best and I find their songs unimaginative. It doesn't matter what kind of energy or chemistry you've got live if the basics just aren't there.
Everyone over at absolutepunk.net and even here is bitching and moaning that Muse is opening up for MCR. I get the point of it but I'm willing to bet Muse doesn't mind opening up for them. Afterall, they did say yes to do it. It'll be great exposure for them and I'm sure they realized that and ran with it. I personally don't see what the big deal is there. (Damn, I agreed with Casey there, lol) As for MCR's live show, I only know of what I've seen on TV, so I can't really judge too much. I know Gerard's voice sucks live, but in recent performances I've seen, he has improved. Too bad I won't be attending this tour due to the shitty choice of a venue and my work schedule. Maybe next time around.
I haven't seen Muse live yet and I don't mind MCR, so I'd probably still go. I also agree with Casey.
everyone needs to shut up about this tour. at the drive-in opened for rage against the machine. murder city devils opened for pearl jam murder by death has opened for kill the lights. many bands have opened for bigger bands and end up being the black sheep. get over it. and my chemical romance live shows suck now. they were better in 02 and 03.
