im seeing the movie next week. curses to no transportation and my graduation party. by the way jawknee, even though you're gone for a while, i feel the need to retract my statement. even though the ride is nothing like the movie, disney did take the idea from the ride. sorry for not letting go sooner ;D
Hey FFA, it's all good. Sorry for attacking you. Anywho, it's funny that I was just on vacation at the Disneyland Resort which has an AMC Theatres inside the Downtown Disney portion of the resort, and I didn't watch the film. It was sold out the entire opening day. The theatre I work at has it, but I'm going to watch it Monday with some people as a mini celebration for my girlfriend's birthday. Everyone's been telling me it's amazing.
yeah my friend who is rabidly in love with johnny depp saw it and is coming to my grad party. im warning her that if she spoils anything for me today im going to take her breakfast club t-shirt and rip it to shreds  *must go on disney auctions and buy pirate memorobilia*
LOL I'll tell you one thing I heard which really isn't a spoiler: Stay until the end of the credits for something more. I can't wait to see it!!
LMAO actually i usually stay 'till the end of the credits. Why? 'Cuz I need to adjust to the lighting and I'm too lazy to get up. Plus, I've seen random extra scenes at the end of A Knight's Tale, The Princess Diaries, and Harry Potter and the Chambers of Secrets, so I tend to make sure there are no extras.
i'm really trying to see that movie, i'm trying to get on my mom's good side ,but so far it's not working, the movie looks really cool, one of my friends has seen it twice already. :chemist: *~*marissa*~* a.k.a KiTtIe "meow" :chaz:
i might see it wednesday. hopefully i will find someone to see it with me by then, otherwise im seeing it alone....
To give you a good idea of how excellent this movie supposedly is, my friend Danielle(who I will get to post on these forums more often) has seen the movie more then 3 times and it's only been out a little more then 5 days. She's slowly becoming obsessed with the movie and has integrated quotes from the movie into her daily life. She also now greets me with an "Arrrr -_o" Shiver me timbers mate. She's going insane over this movie. "Interesting, that's very interesting."
*laughs* You're evil, Derek, pure evil. And I do not greet you with an Arrrr. You do that. As for the quotes, you started saying them and I just happened to remember them!! But yes, I have seen the movie three times in its now sixth day out. I would love to see it again, but don't want to spoil such a good thing now do I? But hey, historical movies are never bad for you.
I live in California. Anywho, yes, I plan to see this movie on Wednesday as well. I remember watching Monsters, Inc. like 10 times at my work.
I know that! Anywho, I just saw this movie and here goes my tiny review: I love how the movie starts right off the bat. Johnny Depp knows how to get into his role like no other; I mean, look at his other movies like Edward Scisscorhands. The cursed pirates look quite believeable when they appear in their "true" skeletal form; kinda scary too. Disney finally branched out of PG and gave us PG-13, meaning, lots more stabbing, explosions, scary stuff, and tons of fighting! The monkey was a little annoying. What was more annoying was the flow of the movie. The whole drunk scene on the island was irrelevant to the film. Also, sometimes, you thought the movie was over but it just kept going and going. No biggie, just thought the editing wasn't so great at times. The comedy was outrageous; I couldn't stop laughing. I loved how they incorporated elements from the actual attraction; i.e. the theme song, the dog with the key in his mouth, the quote "dead men tell no tales," and any others I might of missed. This was one of Disney's greatest movies ever. I give it a 9/10.
