Someone's bound to make this thread sooner or later, so I decided to make it sooner rather than later. Who're you pulling for? Who do you think's going to play for the Vince Lombardi Trophy? Do you think the Browns will win a game? Personally, I'm pulling for them Brownies. I have a lot of faith in them this year. They look super-impressive in the pre-season thus far and they look like they may win enough games to put them above .500 for the first time in four years. I've also got a lot of faith in them at least becoming a Wild Card team. They may've lost their starting center to a knee injury (LeCharles Bentley), but I have a good feeling it's not going to slow them down. Their receiving corps looks great, as does their linebacking corps. The defensive line finally looks good, and the offensive line may just protect second-year quarterback Charlie Frye. I'm looking forward to this season. It's going to be oh-so-wonderful.
Atlanta Falcons. I pull for them every year. And they won their preseason opener against none other than Tom Brady and the Pats.
Philadelphia Eagles baby! I hope their season this year will be better than last year. Last year was so pathetic.
See, this is where the gloves come off in my family. 5 people...5 different teams. Mom: Ravens Dad: Cowboys Older brother: Broncos Younger brother: Giants Me: Packers Although I am rooting for the Panthers this year...it's time for them to win a Super Bowl
you're not fucking serious are you. yeah, I'm a Vikes fan. but football season has been on for 3 months up here now. and it's way better than the NFL.
Things are looking up a bit for the Browns. They signed a veteran center to replace LeCharles Bentley for the season. The funny part about it is that the Browns front office was looking at Fraley (I forget his first name, but he comes from the Eagles) as Bentley's back-up. Now it seems they're plan is going to come to fruition, even though not the way they intended.
LeCharles Bentley, isn't that the dude who they signed to a big contract and got hurt for the year on the first day of camp?
Unfortunately, yes. Not only was it the first day of mini-camp, it was the first 11-on-11 play of mini-camp. We signed Bob Halen (a veteran) in the off-season as a back-up, since we couldn't get Fraley. But Halen retired a few weeks ago because of back-pain he's never complained about. So we were out a starting center. It's a good thing we got Fraley. The Browns have had no luck with their first round draft picks. Yes, they've done great after their first season - but that's only because they keep getting hurt their first year. Except for Tim Couch.
that's fucking unbelievable. The Vikes lost their free agent-acquisition starting free safety for the year too.
