After several years of non-inclusion, iTunes has now put up the entire catalog of Linkin Park albums for download. Included are Hybrid Theory, Meteora, and Reanimation, along with other miscellaneous titles published by the band in current years. Previously, only Collision Course was available for download. Thanks to Panda41189!
Oh great! Now with iTunes giving people the ability to chose a song and not the album, there is very little chance the next album will be able to sell more than 200,000 albums in the first week. When METEORA was released there was never a legal song store that everybody went to, and the album sold more than 800,000 copies the first week. I guess it would have been nice that LP could redefine album sales like before, but I don't know if that can happen again.
That's cool, I guess, if you're into that sort of thing. I pretty much guarantee that the new album will go on iTunes upon release.
Thousands of bands have songs on iTunes and aren't hurting for record sales. If LP can't sell copies of their new album, that can be blamed on it being a crappy item, not iTMS
The people complaining about the bonus tracks being "album only" are lacking some degree of mental capacity. Now if only they'd put the music videos on there too. I think all of them are at AOL music already. Including From The Inside. Haven't checked for Papercut yet. That Live In Texas is a fucking bargain as far as convenience is concerned. I still haven't bothered to put that on my iPod
well i dont like it. ive never been into things sucj as itunes, i like being able to physically hold an album in my hand. and this cant do anything for record sales thats for sure.
Why? As a collector I personally prefer to have a physical copy of the album (across multiple formats & promos ) but there's no reason to say that someone isn't a fan just because they own a digital copy. I've known huge fans who weren't able to purchase an album in any form. Didn't make them any less of a fan.
Are the digital booklets the same as the art booklets that come with the album? I've never used iTunes to buy stuff before, so I don't even have an account.
I'd much rather have the actual cd. Besides, it'll probably come with a dvd or something. Also, imagine you d/l the album on itunes and your computer crashes. I don't know about yours, but my iPod won't send music to the pc. And this really doesn't matterif it's on iTunes or not. If people want to download something they are going to do it whether it's legal or not.
oh great! once i heard that news i almost jump up and down like a kid with adhd! and i was one of the users who requested LP on itunes 3 months ago...thank god they listened! yay! I LOVE iTunes!!
when you purchase music from itunes online store, you own it. if your "computer crashes", it is downloadable again as long as you keep your login information from itunes. but why wouldnt you backup your music in the first place?
Dang. I just thought of something. That'd have been tight if they included the Reanimation music videos (all 20 of em) as the bonus for that album.
