According to the Fort Minor Militia Newsletter, Fort Minor will be re-releasing "Remember The Name" as the next single off of 'The Rising Tied'. With FM's newly found success due to the wildly popular ballad "Where'd You Go", the move seems designed to capitalize on what is already a recognizable song due to it's usage in the video game NBA 06 as well as during TNT's coverage of the NBA Playoffs. Maybe the second time's a charm. A new video is expected to be filmed for the single as well. Source: Fort Minor Militia Newsletter Thanks to illusive!
Oh that sounds pretty cool. Smart move i guess, but i dont like the way mike flows in the song at all. hopefully it will do good, probably not as well as where'd you go! i heard that song every freaggin day on the radio! and it pissed me offf! so ya go rtn!
Good move. Remember The Name is one of my favorite rap songs, and I think it will be successful now that Fort Minor have made names for themselves.
Man...I wish they would release a better song as a single. Where'd you go was a good start, but I want to see a video for Kenji, Red to Black, or Slip Out the Back. I really dislike the way Mike seemed to go with this. He acts like he isn't trying to go mainstream with this CD, then releases the catchiest songs on the CD.
im glad cause im gettin REALLY tired of whered you go because id like to hear some of mikes BETTER songs on the radio, like esaul said a video for kenji or red to black would be awesome, and remember the name is a good one also
Well, its about time that Fort Minor released a new single. It been, like 5 months since Where'd You Go was first released. I am kind of upset that the new single has already been released, but I do think that this is a good idea. I hope that Remember The Name will do as well as Where'd You Go, but I doubt it. I also hope that Mike does a better video, because I really didnt like the first Remember The Name video. I think that this video will appeal to a different audience. On the radio station that I listen to, the first time they played the song, they said that it was really soothing and soft. I think that that might have appealed to a lot of people, and thats why they liked the song. Im not saying that the same people that liked Where'd You Go wont also like Remember The Name, but I think that some of the new fans who like FM based solely on Where'd You Go might be a little dissapointed. Plus, they might feel like they were sort of mislead by the single, because most of Fort Minors tracks are not soft or soothing at all, most of them are... I dont know, gangster rap? You know what I mean, they'are different from Where'd You Go. Anyway, good news, and I hope that this, and all of FMs future single releases, are well recieved. I just dont want them to become a one hit/album wonder. I also want a new FM CD, and theres a better chance for that if the singles of this album are successful.
Not a bad choice for a single, but it would have been nice to see a different song released. Something like "High Road" , "In Stereo" or maybe even "Right Now" would have been great, as they're tracks that people aren't familiar with unless they own the album.
ya i would of really liked a video for "right now" that is a story, and imagine a video for it! it would of been pretty interesting....
Yeah, That would be a good release AFTER the re-release of RTN. And it would probably be released in November. I always thought this song would be set in the long city streets while snowing. I actually thought they were going to release "Believe Me" as the next song, but I guess we don't want FM to be too pop.
It's definitely not a bad choice for a single, but I think Mike should go with another song to release. 'Right Now' or 'Cigarettes' are songs I'd like to see out there.
Heh... There They Go anybody? Spraypaint and Inkpens? I'm a bit disappointed by the decision, but we don't know all too sure if it was Mike's decision. Look at what he first said about Breaking The Habit. I would have liked a video for Kenji.
wot'd mike say about breaking the habit? i like this move by mike, rtn deserves some attention, which it didnt get first time around. i really would like to see slip out the back released though
High Road would be a cool single. Mike said he wouldn't release BTH because it was so personal to him. He didn't want it as a single.
oh ok then, thats pretty interesting actually. i wonder how much choice they really have when it comes to the singles...
100% agree with you. Mike is trying too hard to push a song to make it popular. dont get me wrong, its a great song, but there are aLOT of other songs on the CD. personally, i wouldnt mind seeing "kenji" or "in stereo" as a music video.
