I'm not heart-broken. Audioslave is paint-by-numbers rock with wanky solos that rival most power-metal bands. Here's hoping it's true, because Cornell's solo career, while short lived, was better than Soundgarden and Audioslave combined, in my opinion. I hope RATM don't get back together.
They aren't breaking up. http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1537179/20060726/cornell_chris.jhtml?headlines=true From Cornell himself.
I don't like Audioslave that much so I don't mind either way but I'd prefer it if RATM came back because atleast they had a few good songs...
That would've been quite terrible. Audioslave is an awesome band. Even though, RATM is even better in my opinion I just always thought of them as over/never coming back. Maybe they should get together again.
I wouldn't mind if they split up, and I would kind of like if Rage got back together, but I doubt they will, and they wouldn't really have any purpose nowadays anyway. They're a political band, and I think a lot of people in the US are at least aware of the major political injustices in our own country, so they'd kind of be out of a job, unless they go on to other countries or something. But I guess it appears they won't be breaking up. I really think they're mediocre standard boring rock music, but I guess that's what people want, so more power to them.
As much as I like everyone in the band at this point, I think they should go their separate ways. Chris has definitely done better musically, just as everyone else during the RATM era (listen to the 'Original Fire' solo, then the solo from 'Bulls On Parade'). They're all great, but they're at their best separate.
