Shame if this is true, but they've put out some great stuff so I'd rather see them end on a positive note...

Give or take, they are probably doing the same thing as Pinkerton...in 5 years, we'll have another Weezer binge.

And if not, sad to say this sucks...these guys kicked all amounts of ass.

Okay, well this is really awful because they're one of my favorite bands. But I have to say, I think they've been going really far downhill. The Blue Album and Pinkerton are absolutely incredible, and I love them to death. Since then, they've just been getting worse. The Green Album lacks emotion, Maladroit is just a Cuomo living out his glam rock fantasy, and Make Believe is...gross.

Of course, that's all just my (extremely picky) opinion. I'm still really really upset that they're, "done" but I was lucky enough to see them in concert not too long ago (brilliant show) so at least I don't have to worry about never seeing them.

So um...anyway, that was a very long rant when it was really just supposed to be, "God this sucks. I guess worse things could happen, but man...this really sucks."

Didn't really follow them. I liked their singles, didn't get into them much more than that except I gave Make Believe a listen and wasn't thrilled. They were okay, not a huge disappointment to me, but definitely a bummer. They had lots of talent, even if I didn't enjoy their sound.

36 isn't that old when you consider when Weezer began.

Not a big loss in my eyes. They had some good material but their latest CD did absolutely nothing for me and Beverly Hills got a shit load of attention that it didn't deserve. Much like a lot of songs lately.

Incidentally I liked Green and Make Believe a lot. With me it's just a case of some of their albums being better than others, not some of their albums being crap and others being really good, with the exception of Maladroit which I don't like a great deal.
At least they'd be leaving a good legacy behind instead of sticking around for too long like some bands have.
