Yeah, that was funny. Haas got a lot of hell for that And I'm watching ONS, regardless of what the hell goes down. Because i'm sure nothing will go good and Vince will make ECW(WE)** probably look like hell. Just me though. **I refuse to call it ECW now.
If Vince was gonna bring back ECW then he should have done it last year when several former ECW wrestlers were still under contract with WWE.
Seriously, it does. RVD just so happens to be one of my favorite wrestlers like ever and it's a pity that Vince didn't use him to his full potential.
I watched ECW One Night Stand and all I got to say is... Holy crap. First off, Sabu is an absolute mad man. I can't express how dumbfounded I was after I saw that last move he did (I'll try not to spoil anything ). Second, that hardcore match was almost hard for me to watch. I've seen a few CZW videos, but god, it was hard to watch them continuously being thrown into barbwire. Finally, I know that WWE was the underdog at ECW, but why so much heat on Cena? Jesus, I heard the f-bomb dropped how many times during his match. I know people grew tired of him, but damn that was a lot of heat! I give him his props for continuing to wrestle even with all that hostility. The ending didn't make much sense to me, but maybe that'll be explained on RAW next week or when ECW comes back on Tuesday. Overall, if this is ECW (never got to see it before it was cancelled), then I think I just found a new addiction because that was an absolutely insane pay-per-view. Well worth it. Where the hell has all this been all this time?!
You could have put Jesus Christ against RVD last night at the Hammerstein, and Jesus still would have gotten heat. It's RVD's turf, anyone going against him would have gotten heat.
I really don't care if Cena gets the title back or whatever...RVD is the Champion right now and that'll be there for all eternity.
I'm not only talking in ECW. No doubt the home team gets the most pops when they're at their own place, but people overall seem to dislike Cena with a passion. It's bizarre how passionate the fans are... "If Cena wins, we riot"? That's a little extreme if you ask me.
You'd have to be a long time ECW fan to understand the hatred. They hated WCW, and Mick Foley when he was pulling his whole "pro-WCW/Uncle Eric" thing, they hated Jerry Lawler when he invaded the ECW Arena with RVD & Sabu, and they'll hate Cena, JBL, Triple H, etc. Anyone involved with WWE. They love ECW. They see the WWE guys on the show as invading their turf, and not even in kayfabe terms. They think it's disrespectful, and I tend to agree. I know some WWE fans that get pissed when Tommy Dreamer, The Sandman, etc. appeared a few weeks back. ECW fans don't see JBL or Randy Orton or John Cena on the same level as Sabu or Rob Van Dam or Terry Funk or Tommy Dreamer. Oh, and it probably doesn't help that Cena is a vanilla version of The Rock, who's only been entertaining when he was a heel on SmackDown. He plays the same character week in and week out. He's the "underdog". It gets boring and makes people lose interest. Like I said, a wrestling fan that followed mainly WWE probably wouldn't and won't understand ECW. Most non-ECW fans remember ECW as a "blood 'n guts" promotion, when it was so much more.
Ah, well... In any case, such hostility... Is so bizarre. The guy is out there for entertainment purposes (to me, it doesn't matter, sports are entertainment to spectators), and a boo here and there is fine, but I think all that ranting and raving is unnecessary. But yeah, like you said, I don't have much of a place to say what's right or not. I haven't been there from the start and I barely keep up with wrestling as is, but it just seems really immature/extreme to get that overzealous over something like wrestling. Oh well.
Yea that was pretty wack. I guess WWE is gonna try to carry the show and it'll be just as wack as the Invasion. I mean, how boring will run ins from the "Superstars" get and how quickly will it get there?
Goldust was just released from WWE...again. I would have thought he father Dusty Rhodes would have tried to prevent it however apparently he did nothing.
Dusty doesn't have near as much say as he'd like. And it should stay that way. The man is a horrible fucking booker. And this whole "Fake" Kane/"Real" Kane shit is really interesting, atleast in my eyes. There are a ton of theories going around on the 'net right now as to the storyline, and it's really good shit if it's true.
