Folder/File Help

Well, for some reason my folders/files are sorting themselves differently. I don't really know how to explain it, but here goes:

Let's say if I open Winamp (or any program), then I want to open a file... for some reason my folders/files are being sorted by last modified rather than name (which it originally used to sort by). Is there any way to change this without right clicking and choosing to sort by name?

I know if you access folders on their own (not through a program), you can manually set it to sort files a certain way, but I don't know how to get it do the same thing through those browsers. I really find it annoying having to right click and sort by name every time, so could someone possibly help me figure this out?

Hey i've been suffering 4m that prob too.AUTO ARRANGE doesn't work

 

Right click in the folder goto 'arrange icons' >>> 'by name'

 

That's what he has to do every time he opens the folder. He wants to know how to set it so he doesn't have to do that.

 

Folder Options > View > Apply to all folders

That worked? I didn't think it would because you're going through the dialog, not explorer? Hmm.

 

It worked like, 80%. Seems like my computer is confused now.

It randomly chooses how it sorts files now, but it was working for a while, lol.

 

Hm, somewhat surprises me. *shrug*

Windows is the devil anyways, after Bill Gates himself. So that would explain the confusedness.
