Former American Idol contestant Chris Daughtry has been confirmed as Fuel's new vocalist, following his being voted off the show this week.
did Chris agree to it yet? when those guys were on Extra they said that he has the job if he wants it but it's only been a few days it seems like too soon for him to already have agreed especially since he is still in contract with AI.
American Idol is more or less owned by the Fox Networks, and the news was all over my local Fox Networks. I think it's official.
He lost American Idol, but his career will go further than whichever manufactured, bland pop singer wins.
Hey now, Kelly Clarkson is not that bad. =] But yeah, he WILL get farther than those OTHER Idol winners.
Actually, he has NOT been signed with them yet. Even though he was voted off Idol, he's still contractually obligated to tour with them until it's all over. He also said he wants to take some time off to spend with his family.
I really hope he joins Fuel. Chris was different from Idol in the fact that he refused to compromise or go pop during his entire stay. He sung "What If" by Creed and screamed it like it is on record, and while the judges bashed him..it was an awesome performance. I do want Taylor to win now that Chris is on, but I really hope its true.
Like I said, I thought it was official since it was being reported on all my local Fox channels (and I'm sure it was reported on other local Fox channels, too). That's why I said "I think," haha.
Either way. Chris and Taylor we're the only shred of credibility for Idol. Taylor has to win now or otherwise Idol is just gonna be pop trash again.
It could be a long time until Chris and Fuel make a record. He still has to do all those stupid Idol tours and everything.
Chris posted on the Fuel forum and said he is officially in the band because he accepted the offer from Carl and Jeff but he can't start work on anything until August So there is the story.....
He did a great job on Hemorhage(sp) In My Hands. He is very versatile too, but I don't think he's much of a screamer/yeller. He did Shinedown's 'I Dare You' and didn't do to well through the chorus. He is a singer. It seems like he has a lot of talent, but we don't know anything about his songwriting skills, if they exist. But I'll put it this way, he made me start watching a show that is everything I hate.
