That was my first opinion of it as well, but as I played through the songs a few more times I began to enjoy them alot more.

This is coming from someone who HATES Hoobastank, too. I believe that this is their best album, musically. I enjoy it and it'll stay in my playlist for a few months.

Still, the band needs to really work on vocal control. It sounds so random at times that it does get annoying. The guitar riffs are basic yet sound milky smooth (sounds like another band, maybe the one we're supporting in this forum? lol).

'If I were you' was pretty good live. The lead singer handled the pitches very well. Saw it just last night, live...

The more I listen the more I am dissapointed. It plain sucks IMO. 3 decent songs and the rest is garbage. Luckily I got to try before did something stupid like actually buy this cd.

It's not horrible by any means... it's just so bland. It's mediocre, basically, in my opinion.

It's definitely not as bad as everyone is making it seem, I dont know why everyone is putting it down. It does have a lot of slower/softer songs but the majority of them are epic in their own ways. They aren't boring, at least I don't think so.

I don't know that "epic" is the word.

The main change is the style. It's more contemporary/top 40 easy listening kind of stuff. It's meant to cash in some big money.

Yeah, epic wasn't the word I was looking for but it was the only thing I could think of. The choruses in the songs are big, which is what I meant. I don't know if it's Hoobastank being themselves or trying to cash in money because Doug has said before that he was relatively disappointed with The Reason as a CD. This CD seemed to be more of a step in the direction of their first CD, using sounds that some bands normally wouldn't use and changing things up a bit. You can hear it a lot after listening to the CD a few times. At first, I didn't think I'd like it because it is softer and seemed bland but the second time I listened to it, it seemed much better.

It might just be one of those CDs you need to be in a certain mood to listen to. Or maybe I'm just crazy...because I seem to be the only one here that likes this CD.

I heard Inside Of You on the radio the other day...could the lyrics get anymore unoriginal and cliche? I mean, wow, a song about getting laid, that sure hasn't been done before

I just got it and I'll hopefully be able to listen here before the day is up...Like at work or something, then give my full opinion on how I think of the sound, but if it's going in the ballad direction I don't think I'll like it. I mean groove songs are great, and I have nothing against them, but ballads are different, sad, slow, and emotional, and not good to bounce to. My favorite song by them, and just one of my favorite songs to listen to is Out Of Control, and I was hoping this album would show more of that style. We'll see, I guess.

Okay, I listened to the album at work today, and I enjoyed it alot. I never really listened through The Reason completely, but really liked 'Out Of Control' and 'Same Direction'(I found 'The Reason' annoyingly overplayed).

The album had alot of slower tracks, which was disappointing because I think they do really good upbeat songs, but even the slow songs were really good, in my opinion. I think 'Born To Lead', 'Inside Of You', 'Look Where We Are', and 'Finally Awake'.

'Finally Awake' is probably one of my favorite Hoobastank songs.

I never download leaked albums, but after listening to three of their new songs, I'd say that this album is going to be at least decent and worth $9.99

Inside Of You sounds really catchy, If I Were You was decent (but not as good as The Reason), and Born to Lead was pretty good.

The worst part is that it is probably the 2nd or 3rd best song on the album.

That's what I've noticed too. I've been listening to most of the album, and I must say, what a disappointment. The main vocalist has a great voice, but I really do not think that this album is going to be able to compare with their first.

I finally heard "Born to Lead." Their drummer needs to learn how to drum, because everything he plays sounds the same.
