FOR MARJ. Like the lazy blossoms of the morning, the petal soft skin, The scent of fresh cut flowers flows from where you’ve been, The clustered lilies on the window sill, beckon me closer home, I sense your presence in me, beside me; I know I’m not alone. A cold tree shivers in the might of a gusty wind, A gust as such could not stir me; I lock your warmth within, The stir of the grasses below my feet don’t buy me, I am all yours and yours to be. The dream awakens, and I see you in the distance, You’re too far away, but I’ll reach you when the mist ends, I’ll reach you, and I’ll have you with me, I will be yours, you will be with me. My fingers trickle down your back, the satin smells of you, A finger upon your closed eyes, your face is softer than dew. Your gaze that caught me, caged me, killed me, I want it more, till your stare fills me. My hands are weak, pardon a nimble touch, I can’t believe you are with me, for I love you so much, I hesitate as your arm wraps around me tight, A tear from your eye, surprises me, it glows in the morning light. Not wasting a moment, I catch that pearl, Why do you cry when I’d give you the world? Why feel sorrow, when I can feel it for you? Why do you cry, I’d give you my life if you want to. And you smile, with the happiness I have never known, And you touch me with such gratitude, I would have never known, You have come into my life, like my wish has taken shape, You have conquered myself, left is nothing for the world to take. Do not leave me, for my will shall flow behind you wherever, Don’t wade away, you’ll tear me so, the thread of my life has stitched us together.
