I'm looking for a very good quality, freeware audio recorder that can rip sounds from the web into MP3 format. *sneaky grin* I have the best idea. Ever.
Sounds from the web? I have an even better idea, it's called looking into the source code, find the URL of the sound file in question, and then download it. Amazing idea, isn't it? [edit: post not intended to sound rude.]
Hah, sorry. It didn't come out rude in my head, it was just purely sarcastic. Well, your statement makes no sense to his request. He's asking to record sounds found on a website, what in hell does what you said have to do with what he asked for? He wants to record a sound, but I suggested he actually downloads the file itself [which yes, it IS possible]. I don't know where you're going with this whole "Not all files on the internet are audio files" comment, but if he wants to record a sound, i'm pretty sure it has to be an audio file. I mean, how exactly does a .gif make a sound?
What the heck are you talking about? I was talking to you when I said that. Not all sounds on the internet are audio files. Some are .FLA, etc.
Mmkay, you're right about that. Although, if I remember correctly, most people say it's horrible practice to have the actual sound file in the flash file itself, so the sound is linked to the sound file in the folder [it's night, my explainations are horrible], instead of actually have the sound imported into the flash file. So there's a slight chance the sound file isn't in the flash movie. But then again, you still need to figure out where the sound file is, and I'm pretty sure there's a program to give dir listings. It would help if Omar was more specific...
Basically, he needs a program that will record the audio that's being played through the sound card from a Web site. I had a program that did that before but I couldn't tell anyone the name of it off hand (nor could I even remember it). But Omar's looking for that method rather than doing it the strenuous way and putting the mic in front of the speakers.
Let's see. First off Tomi, you're warned for that comment. It was incredibly disrespectful, and obvious you had nothing pertinent to add, so you just made an idiotic claim to up your post count. Do it again and I'll bring you down to zero. And I'll set you back to the template skin. Good luck using the source code to find your way out of that. Secondly, I'm looking for a program that can capture audio coming from a flash player. Obviously, I do not know where the sound file is coming from (as is in this case I do not believe it is not embedded in the player), so I was asking if anyone knew of a program that generically captured audio from the sound card.
http://www.google.com/search?q=swf+to+mp3 Looking through those, most are freeware/shareware, but they should work. If the above doesn't work, find a double ended audio cable, and put end into the audio out jack, and the other in the mic jack. Then open up Window's sound recorder [or there's other programs - again, use google] and record. That should work. Although, I don't think Window's sound recorder can save as anything other than .wav =\
