“A message in a bottle written in gas and oil. Signed with a rag and a match, here catch.” - P.O.S

P.O.S is a dope rapper. His first album came out like 2 years ago and was critically acclaimed locally. I think it's real good and that you should buy it or download it. It's called 'Ipecac Neat', looks like this, if you see it in the store, buy it, it's the shit.

But that's not the main reason I made this thread. His NEW album is coming out this coming Tuesday (01.31.06) and it's called 'Auditon', looks like this and is just as good if not better than his first album. If you wanna check out some of the music him and his crew (DOOMTREE) make, he's got an EP release originally put out on vinyl last November that you can buy on the iTunes Store called 'P.O.S Is Ruining My Life' with 2 songs from the album and a bonus track (instrumental version included for all 3 songs), a MySpace Music page with 3 songs you can download (2 of which are from his aforementioned first album 'Ipecac Neat') and some close friends and collaborators who've got serious skill at what they do, in my opinion and even greater potential:
sims (rapper, has an album out)
    mictlan (rapper)
dessa (rapper/vocalist, has an EP out)
    lazerbeak (producer)
    marshal larada (producer/DJ)
    paper tiger (producer/DJ)

He's on tour throughout the U.S. and parts of Canada all February and March. Here's a list of the dates if you wanna go to a show and see what it's all about, in person:

Wow P.O.S.'s songs are awesome. It almost sounds like he sampled "It's Dangerous Business Walking Out Your Front Door" by Underoath on "POS Is Ruining My Life".

I have reason to believe this is true, but he just as easily could've replayed it and sampled that. I think the vocals come in too early on the Underoath song.

I'll definitely check him out later tonight.
I'm not a gigantic hip-hop fan, but I do enjoy some of it.
And you seem to know what you're talking about, Ander, so I'll see if it's my thing.

I remember the first time I saw P.O.S. in concert at an Atmosphere show. He pertended that he hooked his iPod up to a boombox to play beats. He was really funny, and his vibe was awesome! He was able to get the crowd pumping and he made us laugh and he had good songs and everything. I have seen him only once more after that show at another Atmosphere show, where he signed his first album on CD for me, writing "I spin fast, Ted do to." I was also able to get a picture with Atmosphere. If you guys want to see it, holla a PM at me.

That's so cool. I already met P.O.S and two more cats from Doomtree (Mictlan and Sims) and I wanna meet Slug and Ant from Atmosphere later this month.

P.O.S did a show in New York City last night with The Hold Steady.
