http://www.kmov.com/topstories/stories/030206ccklrKmovreligionbill.7d361c3f.html That wasn't bad enough? Read this bill. That's right folks.....prayer in public schools. I want to get the hell out of here.
I'm all for christianity and that horseshit, but when you don't protect the minority, I think you're asking for trouble. Especially in today's world, where even a drawing of a deity can cause riots. It's just bad news all around. I won't read that bill, since my computer refuses to download PDF's for some reason. Someone sum it up. Prayer in schools isn't that bad to me. If you have a muslim in the class, he can pray too. Just might be harder for him / her, than say a Christian, since there is more involved. Ah well. I'm not worried. If it ever moves to Tennessee, though, then I am.
Isn't that like...unconstitutional or something? I'm sure prayer in schools is. That's still bullshit even if it is legal, though.
I'm all for prayer in public schools...privately on the student's own time. Pray before class. Between classes. During lunch. While taking a shit. But public schools should not be allowed to set aside class time for prayer. Matt, yeah, it's unconstitutional. That's the surpreme court's decision. And since the SC is full of right wing neocon assholes, they probably support this.
Emperor Constantine was the greatest and worst thing to happen to Christianity. For one, he did end the persecution. On the other hand though, the faith and life became so integrated that it became a culture, and being a Christian was something that was required to move up the ranks in society. Not to mention that in the Middle Ages, they didn't even follow the Bible directly and basically, made up their own religion to feed their own corruption. Kinda sad. What's even worse is the fact that the Founding Fathers tried to prevent that same result by agreeing on a seperation of church and state. Looks like their work was in vain.
