    My friends are telling me to get the 18MB nano, but I don't know how much storage one song takes up. If I buy too much space, I won't know what to do with it. So what storage space is recommended, i dont want too large too small? And how much storage space approx. does one song take up on the nano?

    There are no 18 Megabyte mp3 players. They come in sizes of... 128MB, 256MB, 512MB, 1GB, 2GB, 3GB, 4GB, 5GB, 6GB, 8GB, 10GB, 15GB, 20GB, 30GB, 40GB, 60GB, and 80GB *whew*

    Anyways...the nano comes in sizes of 2 Gigabyes (GB) and 4 Gigabyes (GB)

    How many songs do you have?

    20GB = Roughly 5,000 songs
    4GB = Roughly 1,000 songs

    I think those give you an idea of what you're dealing with. I believe there's a 512 MB Nano, which would yield about 200 songs.

    No 512 meg nanos. The shuffles are 512 and 1 gig. The shuffles suck. No screen, just white plastic, you're better off getting a generic player with a screen instead of a shuffle.

    You do realize your friends just made you look foolish right? There's no such thing as an 18 meg nano. 18 megs is 18 megabytes. If Apple released a player that held roughly 6 songs they'd be sued.

    Get the 2GB one. That's the one I have and it fits about 500 songs which is enough for me.
