    Linkin Park were nominated for a Grammy award at today's Grammy Nominations Ceremony. The band are up for "Best Rap Song (Collaboration)" with their "Numb/Encore" mash-up with Jay-Z. The band are up against:

    -- Ciara feat. Missy Elliot - "1,2 Step"
    -- Common feat. Kanye West & John Legend - "They Say"
    -- Destiny's Child feat. T.I. & Lil' Wayne - "Soldier"
    -- Gwen Stefani feat. Eve - "Rich Girl"

    Linkin Park previously won an award at the 2002 Grammys for "Best Hard Rock Performance" for the single "Crawling". Good luck to the band!

    The event takes place on February 8th and will be shown on CBS at 8PM EST.

    I'm sorry but all LP's song really is, is a remix, whereas Common's song is a completely original new song.

    I kinda have to agree with everyone else here, even though I help run a Linkin Park fan site. :p

    wohoo first post. longtime viewer of lpassociation but never a person who posts

    anyway, i hope LP wins. do you guys know who won best rock album the year hybrid theory came out? its amazing how that album wasn't rock album, if not THE album of the year it brought a lot of diversity ina time when music was dominated by boy bands and the likes of britney spears.

    Linkin Park can't win this one.

    It'll most likely be Common or Ciara.

    I don't like Common as a rapper (come on, he has a horrible flow) but I hate "Numb/Encore" so I'm going to go with the majority here and hope that Linkin Park doesn't win.

    LP will win because 1) its brought together two giants in their respective genre and the song itself is really diverse and creative. thats all grammy quality. quote me when i say" linkin park will win the grammy!"

    I see a lot of baseless hate going on here for bands. Will kind of justified his hate for Common by saying he thinks his flow aint good, but you Casey called Kanye half ass without explaining why you think he is.

    You know we have a rule about respecting musical tastes from when we talked earlier, so..try and follow it?

    Um, yes I did. It's because of how is jaw is structured now. The crash totally changed the way he talked, and as a result his flow suffered. He sounds like he has a mouth full of cotton balls or something.

    kanye is pretty good because hes not one dimensional like most rappers out there. i'm losing patience on his arrogance though and thats probably the sole reason why i won't root for him to win this award. i used to be a big fan of his but am starting to rethink why i liked the guy in the first place

    as for LP, hope they win the grammy!!
